After almost two years I bought an M1008
This is the best in overall condition from the yard that has around 10 of them...
Sadly the army tag says that it has issues with relays and glow plugs:roll:
One red cable goes from the starter to the fuse block.
We move it from the second place...
Finally I bought an M1008 !
Here is one picture during the transport from the yard.
I will post more pictures tomorrow with daylight as there is some wiring issues that needs to get fixed !

These are the first generation KAT1...
Nice capable truck, try to get one with the Rotzler winch.
I also have sources in Germany for parts.
I do hold an export license for ex-military parts but very few of the KAT1 parts needs that.

**** yeah :goodjob:
I found one NV4500 as they are scarce over here !
I love to do the conversion as well but how I can be sure if this one NV4500 is the correct for the M1008 as parts here like bellhousing are scarce and pricey :|

Is your winch working properly or does need any work before the install ?
Same goes for the PTO and the shaft.
Remove your non winch bumper.
Bolt the frame extensions to the chassis frame
Bolt the winch bumpers using hardware from your old bumper.
Get 6 bolts and washers to bolt the winch mounts...
Finally I have tear down and the second level winder (early model)...
Interesting and worth to mention difference is that on Zebedees level winder the copper bushing is pressed in the sheave frame...At the early model the bushing is firmly pressed in the roller bearings frame and not at the...
@poppop Any luck you have the part # from the rollers bearings as here in Slovenia they are not available anywhere...
@zebedee Thank you for the good advice.Yes this is the part I refer to...I just save one of my bearings using your great advice...
Also the roller bearings can be pressed out...
poppop Good news as I thought that these bearings are NLA.
zebedee awesome work! No they are just frozen...I have them soaked in diesel fuel and now they spin freely...What about the wool seals ???
Also how I can remove the center pulley base assembly ???
Thank you,
Jim
