Make sure you have two alternators and not converted to 12 volt. As far as a flickering GEN 2 light, I wouldn't worry unless your passenger side alternator starts acting up or you can rebuild now. Watch you alternator voltage to see if you have a problem. Get a voltmeter and use it. Peace...
You can clean up everything alternator/barberry related under your hood and it will and may do some good. I got a kit from CUCV Electric and had my alt rebuilt. I was going to myself, but now I'm glad I paid someone. It cost $60 an alt at Battery Warehouse and was well worth it IMHO. I do...
I was thinking about going that route until I saw some prices. I bought the rebuild kit from CUCV Electric and took the alternator to a shop. (I was going to try myself, but decided to let the pro's do the rebuild) They only charged $60 and my alternator looks like new. The guy that did the...
I used these guys and kept my wheels and tires the stock size. I think you can only get the gloss black. As soon as I got them dirty it did not matter much.

I emptied mine with a turkey baster. Then I refilled with Lucas Oil Power Steering Fluid w/Conditioners. Now it should be good for 25 more years.
The fill line is on the stick attached to the cap.
I have successfully done the Roscommon Conversion. It seems like your alternator is not getting excited. Mine starts at about 12 volt and goes up to 14.4 volt after about 10 seconds after starting my truck.
My 12 volt junction before and after. I do have some accessories connected too...
The 12 volt Roscommon conversion is not that hard. I had to really look at the 12 volt bus bar to make sure I disconnected the right wire. I have no idea what would happen if I was wrong as in whether the alt would work or charge properly. The other thing that surprised me was the PS alt...
I read the Roscommon 12 volt conversion. Is that red wire on the passenger side alternator isolated ground replaced with a ground?
The other area I would look real hard at is the 12 volt junction block. It is easy to mistake one wire for another.
Other than that I have no other ideas to help...
Glad you got going. I was wondering if water could toast your starter solenoid. I guess it can.
Here is a link to the Roscommon 12 volt conversion. When you convert back to 24 volt reverse what was done. Just understand you can't buy the starter locally and the alternator has to be an...
So he is in New York trying to help some friends in a disaster zone, his truck won't start and you guys tell him he needs to convert back to 24 volt, which is not as reliable as 12 volt IMHO. Great help, then you criticize his spelling and grammar. Bravo
aua...
Maybe these will help you find something.

Doghead nailed it. Your batteries are not charging or you have a bad battery, or connection. Just because it is 12 volt should not be a problem as you can now buy parts in town, a plus in a disaster area.
I would be thinking the alternator. It may have killed one or both of your batteries...
Awhile back my Gen 1 light let me know I needed to rebuild my alternator. I used the Roscommon method and converted to 12 volt in case I wanted to convert back.
My M1008 has been sitting in below freezing temps for four days. I let the plugs cycle and it started right up.
My next test will...
So, I am not advocating everyone convert to 12 volt. I am just saying since your vehicle is already converted to just maintain it. I am learning what works best for me. If I get stuck hunting in a desolate area of Montana it could be embarrassing to life threatening.
Here is the link...
I would keep the truck going the way it is and not convert back to 24 volt unless you wish to return the truck to it's original configuration. You can buy parts locally the way it is now. I like lifetime warranty parts.
This is blasphemy to some, but I converted my truck to 12 volt using the...
