Going to pick up a M818 400 miles away

Uh.. you might want to start thinking about a motor swap for that!!! :-P Its fairly flat over there so you shouldnt have a issue.

Going to pick up a M818 400 miles away

I have to agree with Dave. They already lack on power as it is, throw a heavy trailer on the back and your really slowing down. The few times I pulled my m127a2c if felt like I was towing a sail boat with a geo. I have a stack of fuel filters, had I known you were passing my place I would have...

    Space Between Tires

I agree. If the truck has missmatched/worn out dogbones then that could be more likley the problem. Also, one of the axles could be bent. That looks like a huge diffrence between the 2 sides, something is not right. Have you noticed any cupping of the rear tires? I have 1600's on my m818 and...

    How To: Hub Flip

The inner bearings stay on the inside, the outters stay on the out side. As long as the bearings and races aren't pitted you'll be ok. BTW, you might want to start buying grease by the case or bucket. I highly recommend castrol proprlex (sp?) Red.

I can only help out for a few hours on Sunday, I have to be back in time for my fathers birthday dinner. I'm still coming down and hope to be there at 9am, but have to bail out by 1300. For all that know my dad, please wish him a happy 100th birthday on Sunday.

2011 Graves Mountain Virginia Rally - Labor Day Weekend

I am a go for the 24th if you need help. I can load the chain saws, the old lady, my brother and myself in the camaro or the m1009 and head down. If I bring the car down, we can have a SS car and chain saw show :jumpin:

Front 4 link/coil suspension. Anyone done it ?

Its all about how you set it up. Watch the vid, he has his bags mounted to his upper links so he could get more travel. (his build is on Pirate)

Front 4 link/coil suspension. Anyone done it ?

Why not 4-link and airbags? By the time you set up the links and coil buckets, you can just run bags and get a better ride.

    Deuce/5 ton ROPS Kit?

Yea, if your selling it! Do you plan on taking a deuce over 200mph? I do agree on the 2" .120" wall dom, Thats what I planned on using. Biggest issue is that 2" dom cost $10-15 a foot. Not many people want to pay that and will subsutute a lesser pipe.

    Deuce/5 ton ROPS Kit?

yes, the idea is for the cab, driver, and cage to rip away in a really bad crash and yet be able to withstand the crushing force of the rest of the truck.

    Deuce/5 ton ROPS Kit?

I been trying to work with that. I was thinking about tiying the seats and cab floor into the cage, kinda like a capsul. As long as the cage cand withstand the crushing force of the rest of the truck, the driver will be ok, even if the cab breaks away from the rest of the truck. (top fuel drag...

    2011 GA rally Definite dates???

Had a little visitor at work last night. He pinned me in the office and "requested" me to come to the Ga rally, he also told me that "things will happen" to me if I dont. Never knew Elmo had a thick Itilian accent.
