For the price of a 3/4" gun and socket you can buy an IR 2135 1/2" Titanium and an entire array of sockets for doing all of your maintenance. The deuce lugs are only supposed to be about 350 ft/Lbs. The Titanium is rated @ 1000 ft/lbs. That leaves plenty of room for 650lbs of rust!! Plus it...
CAUSTIC,
When I tried to get a temp tag to drive from Vandenburg AFB back to AZ, they told me I needed a class A to drive a 3 axle vehicle. The weight didnt even matter. Because it was under 26K it was fine, then I was stupid and mentioned the 3 axles. Well thats when all hell broke loose and I...
It doesnt get all that cold in Va anyway, does it?. Maybe a few nights in the 30's, and what 3 inches of snow per year?
I am really kicking myself for not getting it earlier. We have already had 36 inches of snow in town, and close to 5 feet on the mountain. I still am waiting to get my front...
they also have a kit to put disks and rotors inplace of the drums, and it is rated to 2.5 tons but its 800-900 per axle. OUCH]
Sorry Opie!!
Bare in mind our site sponsor www.saturnsurplus.com has them...just more money, and you need to get the brackets from www.sprucemtsurplus.com for 55 bucks.with shipping and all thats about 365.00 all said and delivered. Just save your self a dollar a day and you can get it.
Angie...
I contacted the tech dude from USA6X6 and he told me that for slow speed, unloaded driving(20-30 m.p.h) having 3 pinion brakes would probably be fine. At higher speeds they would get too hot and fade. So IMHO they are only practicle for e-brake duty.
seems I acted to soon. I spoke with Angie @ Colemans...they do have one more NOS kit...and its on its way to me as we speak. Saturn has them ( I confirmed this)...but its 65 bucks more than Colemans, and it does not come with the brackets. I thought shipping was really gonna hurt (54...
I am sure I could retro fit something...But they had the real deal...with the defog ducts, hood blanket and headlight covers...EVERYTHING!!!. I really wanted to stay NOS. I am kicking myself sooo hard right now.<img...
maybe what i will consider is mounting a pair of e-brakes. One on the steering axle and one on the front rear, that way if the ol' hyrdo's fail, I may actually have a chance to stop.Seems to me like a good back up system. I like redundancy as much as Uncle Sam. I dont know if any of you have...
My buddy got an aspen permit cause he wants to build furniture, only problem, he drives an '81 Trans-Am 4x4 (no storage), man was it tough for him to convince me to take my truck into the woods!!!LOL

usa6x6.com has a pinion brake set up with e-brake. Seems to me swapping to a simple disk set up would take all of the fear out of the brake system that everyone has. It seems affordable...but do yall think it will work??
my mistake...I thought you were looking for accessories. For OEM stuff..Saturn is your best bet.
with me being out of work for the last 5 and the next 5 weeks she definatly wont understand.Hell she even wants me to sell the deuce now! Like that will happen! I said Id sooner sell her 2001 cherokee than my little beastie! She understands...shes just a little slow sometimes<img...
