Anybody know what the 5th gear lockin solinoid dose? I found it in the TM but it dose not tell me what it dose. It seems to have a power and ground wire and what I think are air lines. In one side out the other. Still trying to find out why my M936A2 will not shift manual.
My 936a2 shifts fine. I would like it to hold a lower gear when going up steep hills. I tried adjusting the line pressure at the throttle linkage and that seamed to firm up the shifting but it still shifts to the next gear to quick and you loose the power band. It will drop down below 1500 rpm...
Seems to me the trans dose not down shift on a hill to keep the rpms up in the 1500 range. The rpms will get down to 12-1300 and lug before it will down shift. There for droping out of the power band. It shifts ok on flat roads but up hills dose not seem right. I have an allison in 2000 C 6500...

One thing bothering me...
Put new batterys in today and she fired right up on the first crank. Motor sounds good, no oil leaks, good oil press. The temp came up as it should. So I,ll call it a good day.
For some reason the oil tank for the wrecker body is very low. PTO engages fine and I can see the oil flowing in the...
Hi all. I have been hanging around here and there is alot of good info here. Yesterday I brought home an M936A2 wrecker from Ft Meade. 30 years ago I had 3 of them but they where all 500 series trucks. This has little in common with my old ones. First thing I need to know is how many feet long...
