Finally got my flat mirror painted and put on the passenger side. The convex bottom on the MRAP mirror was really hindering my seeing the load dump, or any trailer. I like to often look at a pulled trailer's tires, and backing a trailer was as bad as trying to back one up with a modern "truck"...
That's funny you say it's best at 70-80 degrees. I have noticed it's best when not too hot or real cold too. This with all vehicles. I just assumed it was because it was manufactured in a 70 degree factory, giving it the exact same tolerances when the outside temperature matches where it was...
Thanks Ahab. I really like it so far. The ABS is very awesome. My 5 ton rides like my VW (other than bouncy and noisy!) and sometimes I forget that a trailer without ABS will lock up it's tires. I have smoked out the vehicles behind me more than once. With the truck heavier than the trailer it's...
Mmm, zika flavored skeeters!
Today I traded my M1061A1 for a tan M1082 LMTV trailer with BRob18E. Put 250 miles on it, as we met about half way. It again, ran great. A differential rear input seal slung a little oil on my way to Finlay, but quit on the way back and no leakage today at all. It...
It just happens at times. I think nice clean hands and filter just make a way better grip than we realize. Plenty of times I have broke out the massive channel locks to loosen filters I know darn well I only hand tightened, with oil on the seal.
I have had plenty of these Chevy's and only one CUCV, but this applies to either. The pulling brake may well be your flexible brake hose and not the caliper. It was the case for me, more often than a caliper. The internal lining of the hose gets cracked/damaged with age and a piece lets...
I love my CTIS! Very assuring to know that if I pick up a nail dumping at a landfill or scrap yard that I will still be able to drive the whole day with no flat tire, until I can get it plugged. I have a couple of valves that leak very slowly and the tires will be somewhat low if it sits about...
