    1999 u90 transmission

Third likely has poor or non working synchronizers You may be able to detect the very slight pulling down of the RPMs when stationary and going into gears that "work" that is the synchronizers stopping the clutch (transmission input shaft) that is not fully disengaging. the exorcise listed in...

    1999 u90 transmission

Here is one thing to try, start the truck in 3rd gear, clutch depressed, then slip it into neutral and then see if you can slip it back into third gear keeping the clutch depressed the entire time.

    Fans mounted on the radiator

The cooling issues are very unique to the HMMWV, it was designed for low speed operation, the factory fan moves allot more air than any electric fan/s that are available. That hole in the hood is a big issue with me, we learned back in the 60s (and maybe actually earlier) that a hood scoop...

    interesting SH405 armored 404/S Unimog

Specs say 90HP IIRC (and that is more doubtful by the decade) the original 2.2L had 86HP I had one I put a 280S engine in and it moved pretty well, I would stick a Mighty Mite in the bed and tow a small pop up to the various Jeep jamborees, back in the day.

M998 blowing white smoke almost constantly

Did you take a sample from the fuel filter water drain? put some in a glass and see if it phases out. Do you have a working temp gauge??, IIRC you have not mentioned what the temp gauge was doing during these runs.

    interesting SH405 armored 404/S Unimog

I would like to find a set of those wheels/tires, they are much wider than the stock 404 wheels, I run 1100-18 Gama Goat wheels and tires on mine.

    interesting SH405 armored 404/S Unimog

I would assume it would have a standard 404 transmission it only has two sticks, the 6 speed and the 2W/4W/4Wlock shifter

    interesting SH405 armored 404/S Unimog

You should edit the title to something like "SH405 armored 404/S Unimog" Do you have one?

Sound deadening, sound proofing - which have you done and what are your results?

Seadek is for "flat smooth surfaces", that would lead me to believe it may not work well on contoured surfaces.

    Humvee floor repair--any ideas

The fuel access cover kit number is 57K3529 you can google it and find a few places you can buy it, others will be govt. suppliers that will not sell to the public. OR you can put a want in the classified section here and possibly get a better deal.

    Humvee floor repair--any ideas

Absolutely if it is enough to cover the damaged area, RWH can probably set you up with a piece also as he said above.
