    Newbie CB Radio Questions

The sections are hollow tubes - if you don't have a tubing cutter, you could even use wire cutters - although the end would look bad. Just take it a little at the time so that you don't cut too much off. There is a thread on here about how much to cut. I think the overall length (from the base...

    Newbie CB Radio Questions

If all else fails, trim your ms118 down with a tubing cutter. I had to cut around a foot off of mine to get a good swr reading. Works like a champ!

    M100 resto finally started

M100 resto - Day 2 I finally got a day without a good chance of rain, so I decided to go back to work on the M100. I disassembled it almost completely. The only thing I didn't tear apart was the casting and landing leg (don't know why - just didn't). I pulled the tub/frame off of the running...

Vintage Jeeps on the Blue Ridge Parkway

I'm hoping I can do this with y'all next year. The engine will be rebuilt and trailer restored by then for sure!

What did you do to your deuce this week?

Surely you have video! It's not an ice bucket challenge unless you have video.

Official 2014 SS Ga. Rally buy/sell/trade thread

    I second that question.

    M100 resto finally started

Same here Cabell - mine has sat for over 5 yrs, and even though it had a domed tarp over it at the edge of the woodline, the rust spread. Now I have a lot more work to do than if I would've done it when I bought it! I can see where a tailgate would make these trailers sooo much more useful. So...

    M100 resto finally started

Good to know - now I can rule out using that one! Wes, over at willymjeeps, confirmed that the K 322_9 (I think I was reading a 1 after the K) was a USAF tub number from between 1950 and 1955. He said there were 4 numbers, then went to 5 (k xxxx and K xxxxx). That is the reason I was asking...

    M100 resto finally started

Yeah, I can't complain about the price - they are going for over $1,000 in that condition (or worse) now! Here are a few pics from when I brought it home, cleaned it up and uncovered some tub markings. I don't think the tub number is original because it doesn't conform to the known type of...

    M100 resto finally started

I bought my M100 a little over 5 yrs ago - on Easter day actually - for $200! I brought it home and cleaned it up. I did a little bit of light sanding to see what numbers I could dig up. I found a USA number that started with a W - not consistent with what others have (with known "correct" tub...

2014 Va Rally at Graves Mountain Aug 29-Sept 1, 2014 (aka, Labor Day Weekend).

That's what I was getting ready to ask!

What did you do to your deuce this week?

Drove mine to Porter Warner to pick up some blasting media (500#) to blast my M100 trailer while I'm off this week - might have enough left over to get started on the M101a2 if I recycle enough times. The warehouse guy had to look the truck over, top to bottom, and ask 100 questions. From there...

What did you do to your deuce this week?

When I replaced mine a few months ago, I found that one of the boots (outer side) was loose and took two sets of hands and lots of colorful language to install. The other boot was a tight fit and I was able to install it by myself in half the time. They are zippered boots also - didn't use new...

Official 2014 SS Georgia Rally Info SSGR14 thread

Yeah, it is a bit more rough than that, but still better than primitive camping for sure!

    Paint for M725

24087 - most of the mil veh parts dealers sell it. I have always used Gillespie, but there are many threads on SS about using Behr latex house paint, among others. Home Depot can mix it if they have a competent person working the paint dept.

    Troop transport trailer

They must have had different cattle cars when I was in - we were always standing, holding onto rails running along the ceiling - sure did stink with all those arms up in the air after a long day(s) in the field! "Make your buddy smile!" was the favorite call when loading up!

    front hub smoking.

Exact same thing happened to my passenger front side in March - same length of drive too. Got a replacement Timken from O'reilly(don't remember the number - they just looked up the number on the old one).
