Thank for the invite. My daughter's HS band is in the Ruskin Fl parade. So I registered for that one along with two other Humvee in my group. Maybe next year.

If any body is interested in bein the Veterans Day Parade in Ruskin Florida contact me as at the meeting on the 25th of October I will need to give final numbers for my group. At this time we have 3 Humvees.

A Humvee in multicam that would be interesting. But I too understand, you spend the time painting then when done, it didn't turn out how you expected. At least it will be easy to paint over.

I came across a mod that 3rd Grp did in Iraq. http://www.fourwheeler.com/how-to/engine/131-0612-millitary-hummer-electric-fan/

But the Humvee shift linkage is different. My take if I am going to spend that kind of money, I might as well have the park too.

The stock windshield glass in mine has the DOT safety glass markings. That is already laminated. The armored glass is thicker and can be retrofitted to a standard M998.

It makes me wonder a couple of things. Besides my Humvee, I also own a 1028. I to had be debating the upgrade to my 1028 and now my Humvee. The 1028 has a park besides the other gears. Now this gets me thinking. If they can build a bulit proof 700r for a CUCV. Why not the same thing for a...
I have been reading this as I am having the same issues. Pretty much have done the same things. I am in Florida so it's been hot here. Don't know if that's an issue but when I was at Hood/NYC or Afghanistan I didn't have this issue.

It seemed like every other month we were retrofitting our trucks with a new system for countering IEDS. By the time I redeployed we had a general salad bowel of systems.

My mistake. Both antennas look similar. If you were going to do an uparmored clone that would be the antenna to use. I agree. The skinner wip would be better. There are several emails Bay sellers where you can get the singars base and antennas. One guy out of Texas is where I got mine.. As for...
I guess it depends on your taste. That antenna was part of the dukes for jamming VBIDS an IEDS in Iraq and Afghanistan. It would look out of place on anything other then Uparmored or ECV look-a-like..

No on the rebuilds they usually replace the old transmission with another 3speed in the case of mine. If the Humvee (1097A1, 1123,1114, 1151s) were rebuilt and alot of them were. They would get a new 4speed. Only exception was the SF Gunvees which started out as 1025s or 1097s and were totally...
Another reason to change out. The old bias ply are 36 vs the radials are 37s. Next very hard now to find replacement tires. Another thing to consider is the bias tyres flat spot when sitting for a while and will also bounce at speed. Upgrade to the radials as it will ride better.

All depends. Alot didn't get rebuilt as evidence of the number of Humvees with the 6.2. Generally the rebuilds will have the 6.5 GEP and will have the EPA exemption on the valve covers . What did happen as an engine died or failed the AOP sampling they would replace just the engine. This...
Replaced my oil pressure gauge. Old one had Crack in it and looked to have been a ground issue. New gauge reads about 5psi before engine is started. But lot better then old one which read 30 when cold and under 25 when warm at idle.

I saw it happen down range with an uparmored. It surprised everyone. It was being recovered. Driver left the switch on an it was in gear. If I hadn't seen I would have not belived it either.
