So, while my son and I were at the Arlington Fly-in last month, we came across a Mule on display in Camp Adams. Talking a bit to the guy that owned it, I think, he mentioned that these made so much noise that the soldiers in the field were instructed to carry them when they were on patrol as to...
I think the cargo 5 ton had an unfair advantage over the Wrecker 5 ton. :driver:
Maybe it should have had the cargo cover on to slow it down some? :doghead:
Should have shown the trophy afterwards too...
There was a trophy, right?
Right?
Okay, so it runs and comes with a parts truck as well. It just looks so beat up. And boy does it need new tires, even the spare looks to be as old as the truck!
Ya never know. Old Steel Soldiers never die... Um, what do they do?
Hey Scott!
Another newbie for you to harass into rallies and such! rofl
Welcome aboard! And to the sickness.
Be sure and check the thread on the chapters area for PNW area. You'll meet a lot of people that way. http://www.steelsoldiers.com/western-us-chapter/77974-pnw-info-thread.html
Or be...
I thought Scott was THE source of humor? Tires or otherwise....
Looks like everyone had fun. But I could only see two red trucks. Where are the others?
hmmmm that's odd, The sticky says 15" and the truck I'm looking at has 15".
And I don't see and engines in the classified section.
Off to CL, I guess or maybe eBay.
Thanks for all your useful (CHOKE) advise. I asked this one the fly therefore, didn't use the search, nor did I even see the sticky.
I did think that these came stock with 16 inch tires, to match the m101a2 trailers, but I see I was incorrect.
So I learned something new today. Maybe a couple...
First, I need to verify what engine actually came with the truck.
Second, How difficult is it to find a running one? Engine, that it. Truck I'm looking at threw a rod. Seller claims 6.2L
Third, What does a running engine go for these days?
Congratulations. Boy, he sure is small. (my son was a 10 pounder) Think of putting him back to cook a little longer?
Anyway, about the water breaking, I think I saw a repair kit for sale in the classified. I think he was offering same year delivery too!
Hope both mom and son are doing well...
I saw this and all I could think was he must have some really tight lugnuts on one wheel right now.
And then, I read the second post and probably confirmed it.
The lugwrench tool looks great for the application.
Good luck!
They were built to run on cheap stuff....
But still, why put so much gunk in your engine?
Anyway, great looking piece of history you have there! Nice that you got the pump out of the attendant's hands too!
