Is it a C turbo or D turbo? Not all Deuces have Whistler Turbos. The C's are the Whistler Turbos, the D's are Non-Whistler. It has been said the D's are more durable than the C Turbos.
I hear a clicking sound when my air compressor is pumping up the air tanks. Its just a resonance of the air lines. Soon as it builds up the air and shuts off, the sound stops. Could your be a similar cause? My truck is a M35A2 by the way. What is your truck?
Something I never understood about deuce winches is they did not have vents. Now the M35A3 winches had a vent/vents. I think lack of a vent sometimes is a lot of the reason some of them leak sometimes. My winch was overhauled by Uncle Sam in '94 I believe.
Stock or near stock is what I like. I do think spin-on filters are a good upgrade. Building oil pressure faster is a nice perk. I always let mine warm up before I take it out and treat it very well even though I do play with it offroad a couple times a year (no severe mud or water so I dont need...
I'm with Gimp on this one. I was getting 7mpg on the highway with high exhaust gas temps. I also have a single rear axle disconnect from Oversion, and still got about 7mpg (estimate because use WMO for fuel and fill a 5 gallon race can back and forth to fill it up, so I just counted how many...
I would jump in my M35A2 right now and drive it to anywhere in the country and not think twice about it. Of course I would bring tools but still, I wouldn't be scared. I know every inch of my truck and don't see why I wouldn't trust it. I love that thing and it loves me! :D
Dave, how do the rear drag winches work on these? Do they have level wind in the rear or no? Do you have any pictures of the rear winch? Does the rear winch get its power from the same hydraulic system as the front winch? Thanks for your time.
This is a good thread here about injectors.

I have seen the M945A1 bridge truck in some pictures online, but did they ever make any M945A2 bridge trucks with CTIS and the 8.3 Cummins? It sounds like that truck would be a beast with the bigger dual tires, rear drag winch, CTIS and other goodies. Username 74M35A2 and I were talking about it...
I have a similar thing with my truck. I never knew what it was like before the FDC was bypassed, but it does start better when the fuel is turned up. I adjust my fuel by how much boost it puts out and how easily it gets to my max EGT. I recently pop tested my injectors and that did help it start...
Are these drum brakes? Did you use the original deuce axles? If you didn't use the deuce axle how did you retain the same gear ratio for the front axle? The stock deuce brakes work good for me but it is always neat seeing air brakes.
How exactly does the wood burning one differ from the fuel fired one? They look the same in the manual but must have another part that adapts it to wood some how. Do you have some pictures of this wood burning one? Thank you!
