ok, i'm back on track :) I've moded the latch at the frame. 2 cuts, flatten the latch on the shop press and countersink the holes.

The problem is, the front of the hood move sideways due frame flex. You can see it while offroading. A safety pin would't allow that movement.

Thank you gimpy, i know them. I hoped they are better than the steel hooks.

And i thought about switching to the rubber hold downs because my metal allways break or unhook while offroading...

Yes it is. The lighter test shows it :-) My problem was, all straps i found are to thin.

I've removed the fuel tank. Does anyone has a source for the "fabric pads" between the support and the tank? Or the correct term? NSN? Greetings Juergen
