Actually, uls diesel has a lubricity spec, which low sulpher or any other diesel fuel never had. The lube pump additive is included in the fuel by the supplier. I lost the web sites, but if you Google for ULS Diesel there is a ton of info out there.
Do you have troop seats? The uprights, corners and bows for the cargo cover all fit into stake pockets in the troop seats.
Watch Ebay for the uprights, corners, bows and covers. Good used Vinyl 3 color camo covers run in the $250-$350 range and are one piece so you don't need the end canvas.
The stock M35 rims are 7.5" wide and are rated for 12:00-20 tires, per what is stamped on my rims. That of course was the spec in bias ply tire days.
If you look carefully at the charts above, the 11:00-20 NDT tires call for an 8" wide rim (contrary to what is stamped on my rims), are 11.9"...
I got my boots and clamps from Saturn. The clamps seem ok except the bolts appear to be metric and are not self locking. Took the bolt down to the hardware store & bought a US (SAE) bolt & nylock nut. I'll post pics when I get around to replacing the inner clamp for the third time. I make the...
I bought my grille cover on Ebay, it was pretty cheap, in the $20-$30 range. I run it year round. During the hotter days in the summertime with the flap rolled up all the way I don't think I ever got above 190F or so. Now that wintertime has arrived here (8" of snow over the past two days) I'm...
I'd be pretty nervous about running at 1000F with a post turbo pyro. Everything I've read says the MINIMUM difference between pre and post turbo pyros is 100F, most seem to think 200F-300F is more typical. So at 1000F post turbo, depending on how close you are to the turbo outlet and whether...
4" exhaust pipe is pretty standard and in stock at most shops that sell truck parts. 3-1/2" is a different story, usually needs to be special ordered.
Difreema - $19.99 for a 4" elbow is pretty fantastic, the shops around here are in the $30-$40 range. Are you sure about that price, ESPECIALLY...
I didn't have any luck finding a number for the fibre gasket. I did find a store which carries Doreman parts and fittings, they matched me up with a gasket with the right ID, OD was a little smaller but it works perfectly.
It is black smoke. A very slight haze at idle, light but noticeable smoke accelerating up through the gears. Not belching big clouds of thick black smoke, but enough to easily see. As far as I can tell, it does not smoke once I get it up to speed though.
Did finally get the pyro working, on a...
Those pumpkins are a bitch, seem to recall they weigh in at several hundred pounds each. It it were a Deuce I'd say pull the bed off and use an engine hoist to get them out. On a wrecker it is going to be tough. You'll need some sort of low profile hoist to to get underneath the truck bed and...
Doubt you need a new block. Get the head planed, just the minimum needed to get it flat. A new set of the current head gaskets, God only knows what t hey are, but I THINK the latest gaskets have separate fire rings, and you should be good to go. Yes, use the proper head bolt wrench adapter...
NAPA is not all that great for parts, besides being expensive. Go to your local parts store and tell them you want a 4"ID x 4"OD elbow, that should get you want you need reasonably cheaply ($25-$35 bucks or so). Plus, then you can pull the mushroom if your engine needs a little shot of ether to...
Grimjaw, Banshee365, PM's sent. Let me know if you did NOT recieve them, the PM section does not seem to be running at 100%. I will respond again if you did not recieve the original message. -- Lee
I run Rotellla T 15W40. Cold start is about 60+ Psi, maintains 45-60 PSI at road speed, drops to 30-45 PSI at hot idle. I'm happy with what readings I get. Remember, you are running basically 15 weight oil, it just maintains its visocosity at operating temperature to to equal 40 weight oil at...
