Thanks, what kind of price does all that add up to? Just wondering what this much of the winch  is worth and how much will it cost me to get the rest of the parts.
Hey guys, is this a winch for the Deuce? A friend found it and is willing to sell it to me :D
Did some searching, but it's a bit hard to find photos w/o loads of reading
I agree that leakage from the tranny is NOT the only reason that there can be clutch slippage. Engine oil leakage was not our prob, we've not lost a bit of engine oil since we did our first oil change. What I meant was that if one is leaking GEAR OIL from the tranny, out the bell housing AND the...
And the winner is . . .
Spent yesterday under the rig pulling the tranny out, it had gotten too low and was still leaking after being driven at hyway speeds. Pulled off the cover plate and found, 1) that the cover plate bolts were not tight (enough, by my standards, but not the leak) and that...
Has anyone put in the Duel Alt kit from Wolverine Tech? Does anyone have a install instruction sheet?
Got the kit a little more than two weeks ago, it had a damaged part (the one that pulls air through it(?) ) that I said I would replace if it was sent to me, I also asked for an install...
Have checked them, not only checked them I took them out and pushed them open from the inside w/ the back-side of a drill bit. Just to make sure that they weren't stuck.
We haven't put to many miles on it since I started this thread, w/ the build going on.
It does seem to have almost stopped...
Now that's a question, . . . no way to tell how far we have to travel on this path. Can tell you some of the things we've done, or have in process.
Our target date for starting this trip is the 1st of Aug. For that we were wanting to have certain things done, a bed/lounge, stove w/ propane tank...
Bike Rack
This is our new profile,
had to make some kind of "Bike Rack". Didn't want to increase our already tall clearance needs, and didn't want to figure someway to put our dirtied rides inside . . . so . . . a rack along the same lines as Mr J. Gato's. The main needs were to have a place...
I never would have thought of setting it in the sun . . . where we are there's enuff sun to make it burst into flames! No kidding, when we were collecting oil for fuel someone brought me some in a clear plastic container . . . I didn't pour it into the drum that night. The next day the sun...
I agree on the pump, I got me one of those as well.
I don't agree on the GL-1. After spending way too much time reading about oils & gear lubes last year, I'm of the opinion that Gl-1 is great for the tranny (yellow metals and all) and Gl-5 is more suited to the dif's. Gears work against each...
Speaking of soft-tops, haven't had much time to play w/ mine yet (focused on the 109 build) but I did notice, the other night when I was sitting in it thinking/dreaming, that there is a sleeve sewn on horizontally, at the height of the cab back.
Not sure if they intended for it to be pulled up...
If that is where I think it is, over near Palmdale, I know someone that is getting rid of a Deuce out there. PM me if you are interested.
Hoping to be leaving here for our summer trip in the next few weeks. Would you be around Yuccy Valley in the next couple weeks? If so I'll PM my #.
Steal away. The tank just fits w/o having to mod the mudflap. It's a 14.5 gal tank and we first thought that we would be cutting into the mudflap to mount it. Turned out that the mounts on the tank let us slide it far enough forward to just miss it and still give room for cab movement.
If you...
Next it was time to start on the propane tank mounting. Dropped the spare, mudflap, and pulled the holding unit off. With help from a friend that can weld, we fab'd up some mounts. Painted the tank got it back into place. Will still be able to re-hang the spare w/o having to do any fab'ing.
Pulled the hinges of a $5 futon frame we got at the local swap meet and mated them to some 3/4 birch ply. After making sure that my tape didn't lie to me, and I really could lay it down w/o running into the wall, I pulled it all apart for some sanding & oiling. Now I live in a tree less desert...
M109 Live-in Rig - Spacial Transformations style
I've been promising to some of you that I would do a build thread when we (finely) got started . . . that time has come.
We spent the last year getting to know the rig, sealing leaks, singling out the rears & changing the tranny, re-deucing the...
We ARE doing that 109 into a camper. Will be starting a build thread soon (ssshh).
Same here w/ that desert camping thing. Can't find Juniper Hills on my map program:-? We are going to be heading north at the end of July (target date) in the 109 and would be willing to swing by, if you're not...
