I used a 305 Chevy and it was plenty of power. It was not quite as thirsty as my brother's 350 swap. The 305s are still cheap, everybody wants the bigger brother.
A come a long and a 4x4 post. Run the 4x4 through the center of the wheel and up into the bed. Use the come a long to get the weight up the 4x4. The board will keep the tire from plowing and catching. I use the 4x4 to load deuce wheels. 1100s and larger are too heavy to flip into the box. Glen
That is a fine truck, the best M925 I have seen. It does not photo well, those browns just do not look so great. It had a small ding in the right head light area and the right bumper was tweaked a little. I scrounged my way through about 60 trucks and felt like this was the best one they had...
Big Bertha has arrived!
I went out to see if I could find the top plate for the winch, which I was lucky enough to get done. The top plate is in good shape! I was pleasantly surprised! I had a couple of other requests, so I was looking for those as well. I spotted the Bertha name... seems...
This batch is in better shape than the 20 we have in the other yard. They are really rough, they just are not feasible as runners, by the time we fix brakes, find good tin, replace broken windows, fix the exhaust (all the stacks are rusted at the J), source an engine and clutch, fill the fluids...
Little things like that I really enjoy, thanks for posting it up. It gives character to what we have and I enjoy history. I wish I could keep them all, but that is not possible. I wish they could talk... I really do! Glen
The trans and PTO are in the box, the shaft and shifter are in the truck. It appears to be complete except for the top plate and it may be in the box covered with snow. I am hanging onto those parts until I get my five ton bought. I no longer have to find a winch truck! I am not sure what you...
I would have to check, most of these that have heaters have them mounted deuce style, on the driver's side with the deuce air box. I think the cores are the same though.
The boys and I went out early this morning to drink tea with the liar's club. I left the boys in the pickup while I went in for tea. The rest of the club drinks coffee. We left there in the M1008 and went to the yard for the boys to burn off some energy. I was looking at the five tons that came...
We would gladly buy as many airplane hulls as we could get our grubby little fingers on. Even if we had to rip them apart with grapple buckets and skid loaders, the amount of aluminum to recover would be quite valuable to us. Transporting the thing is the big problem, if they would let us tear...
I am not sure who won them, but there are some 101 and 105 trailers that were sold here in Salina with the axles wired to the chassis. I think that should have been disclosed on the auction, but it was not. They were in the middle of being torn down for rebuild when the plug was pulled on the...
