Howard, two things...first, my parents have a farm in Cherry Valley, NY! What are the odds!
Second, my friend in FL has the option of screening trucks out and TURNED THESE TRUCKS DOWN because they were not in very nice shape...missing stuff, rust, etc. He had someone inspect and lay his hands...
I almost feel like I was involved as Ron called me about the filters, too! He and I talked for about 30 minutes about your filter issue. Not sure if you used my advice, but I suggested removing the primary filter if you absolutely had to do so (assuming that this would be the filter that...
I want a nice M342A2 badly...but have never found exactly what I want. That truck is beautiful.
Contact TNJ Murray (they advertise on this site). John Murray told me a year or so back that they had tailgates, cab protectors, etc.
Nice looking truck! I had an M939 series truck that really had a hardshift from 2 down to 1. All it was was a spring inside the tranmission. According to Allison...and I don't recall which spring was which...they swap the spring and that controls how hard the transmission shifts (different...
Does anyone know if the VIN is located on an M915A1 other than the data plate? A friend just got a truck out of OH and it is missing the data plate. I assume the VIN is stamped on the frame some place. Does anyone know where? Thanks!
Well...(thinking about witty comeback)...OK, I don't have a comeback. I just wish I had three HEMTTs (or variants before anyone tells me that a PLS is not a HEMTT). Congrats, Dave.
I mainly deal with the same broker that I have dealt with previously. That particular broker HAS contacted me with a lower rate once they weighed the item. On the rare occasions that I go with someone I don't know, I usually try to guess a bit high so I am not surprised in the end.
How would that work? They based the quote on the weight provided by GL. The shipping company is not liable for that incorrect information. I NEVER use the GL weight estimate unless it makes sense to me. Even then, if I am uncertain, I will estimate a higher weight and I know the price could...
I am not commenting on the price, but I think this transaction worked the way every other shipping transaction has worked for me. You provided them a weight from the GL website. They based their original shipping quote on that weight (they are not responsible for the information provided by...
I agree with BOLKBICH. In all of the many M939 series trucks that I've owned or sat in, I have never seen any wipers other than the air wipers. The air wipers in the M939 series trucks are head and shoulders better than the junk in a deuce. I have only had to replace one in over a decade...
Brandon, I know you are going to repower that M52A2. I understand your desire to do so as the Mack motor has more beans, but I actually think the LDS produces good power and has a sweet sound. Good luck with your recovery. That is a clean tractor...and the price was right!
Much easier to do with the power steering in a 5 ton. I had to back up an M105A2 with an M814...not the best/easiest combination...but was able to back the trailer up in a "somewhat" straight line for about 100+ yards. I did have to straighten the trailer out once. To me, the steering on a...
Yes, welcome. If I can help you with anything, feel free to contact me. You are near BWI, right? I am about 40 minutes from you closer to Frederick or Mt. Airey.
Very nice. It looks like you added the retro support leg, right? Just curious...where did you find it? I saw one on eBay one time. I bought one from a fellow SteelSoldier, although I know he is out of them. I believe he had like 3 or 4 at one point.
With regard to the landing leg, a company (Williams?) makes a stabilization kit that is well worth the money (well, not retail money, but surplus money). I have one for my trailer.
I agree. I think the M105A3 is a superior design, all except the landing leg. Galvanized bed, internal tie down points, recessed composite lights, side and rear marker lights, etc.
