I used a set of front 5ton springs and hangers- I'll probably throw a M105 bed on it.
But I thought about a flat bed with the rear dove tailed??? not sure right now.
Thanks Vinny
Heres a couple of pics of my 818 bobbed- I keeped the frt axle in the same spot and will have to cut the rear frame about 14"-16" to fit right. But I think you could use the full frame and center the bed and axle to work.I hope this helps.

Enjoy your truck!!! The black box on one of mine was missing too. I found one locally but there are a couple of members here that have them for sell.

Chris, I had the same issue with my old duce, looked like a leak at the rear main. I pulled it apart, seal looked like new??? I changed it anyway and no more leaks. I think you doing the right thing, change it while you can get to it.

You can put a turbo on the 5ton with mods, I have seen it done with parts from a 290 swapped with turbo only and turbo and injector pump. I also have seen a BIG CAM engine swap and it was about twice as many mods to the engine mounting, oil filter location, cooling inlet, etc. I have no photos...
I missed having a bed, thats why I pull the 109 box off and going to a full duce frame with 109 box as a pull trailer. Throw a short dropside bed on the 818 and I'm set!!! room for a spare and cargo..
