I'm getting ready to order some replacement floor pans and rocker panels for the m1009. I need to replace basically the whole front cab section including underneath and behind the front seats. When the new panels come, will they have holes pre drilled for the seat brackets?
Last week I bid on and won a 1984 m1009 from govdeals. It belonged to a sheriff's office in North Carolina that had owned it since 1995. I drove the 175 mile trip there, and it fired right up with a jump start. I drove it all the way back with no issues. It will need all new rockers and floor...
this is Based off my previous thread about the m1009 I just won out of Warner Robbins, GA, which is missing the air filter and cover, cdr valve and crankcase vent tube, and tailgate. What are the chances that the motor is shot? Both alternators and batteries are there. The injection pump...
I'm looking at the pics of the M1009 I just won and noticed a few things missing from the engine. I know the air filter/breather cover is missing, I think the CDR is missing too and the hoses that hook to it. what else can you tell is missing? I think there are some hoses missing from the...
I'm getting ready to bid on a decent looking m1028 that has 14, 000 miles on it. Are low miles like this a bad thing? Sorry for the question, but my only experience has been with the M1009's that usually have quite a bit more mileage than the trucks.
This maybe posted in the wrong spot, but last month I won (2) 6.2 engines in shipping containers from Redstone Armory in Alabama. My EUC has cleared and I can go pick them up at anytime, the problem is I don't have time to go get them. I paid $350 for the pair of them, so if anyone is...
Can anyone assist me in picking up 2 6.2 diesel engines from redstone armory? I live in Atlanta and will gladly reimburse someone to help me get them from there to here. Thanks
I figured I'd share my updated pics of my newly painted 1009. I painted it myself in a friends driveway, first time ever painted a vehicle. Turned out better than I thought it would. (the pics aren't the greatest, the green shows shadowed on the a couple pics, looks much better in person!)
I've been experiencing a loud banging noise going to down road at certain speeds. I've also noticed that when I shift the blazer into neutral the noise gets worse. I changed the ujoints and that didn't help. We've traced the noise and it seems to be coming from the rear end. Its a very loud...
When I go into to NAPA in the morning to buy new 2 new ujoints for the rear driveshaft, and a new rear pinion bearing, do I need to get 1/2 ton parts or 3/4 ton parts for the M1009?
I'm trying to track down the loud noise coming from the rear of my truck. At certain speeds I can hear a continous loud metal on metal knocking noise. It sounds like somene is taking my tow hooks and banging them against my bumper. It seems to be worse if I put it in neutral and coast down the...
I've got all the paint, reducer, filters, etc etc etc....what I don't have is the paint gun! Any suggestions on what to use? cannister, siphon fed, hvlp, ? nozzle size, what type of in line water filter, regulator? I'm totally a noob when it comes to this!
I'm thinking that my fuel filter base is leaking, so I'm going to order one from oem surplus. I think I read on here that I need to also buy a fuel pressure switch? Where would I get one of these at? anything else I need to pick up?
I swear one day I'll get this all sorted out. If my 1009 sits overnight it takes a little effort to start it first thing in the morning. It turns over and after about 3-4 tries it will fire up, and blow white/grey smoke out the tail pipes. Now, I'll drive to work, let it sit there for 12...
I drove the 1009 to work this morning, ran fine. Parked the truck in the parking lot. It was parked on a slight incline, nose down. About 8 hours later, I notice a puddle of diesel fuel underneath the truck, I know for a fact that it didn't start leaking utnil at least 8 hours after I parked...
