Data plate is not a sure bet, jack it up and turn the tires. I bought a 931A1 and the seller said it had lockers based on the plate. Got it home and jacked it up, notta. He made it right later on.
I think the best and cheapest would be the MG-42 rings that RTG parts has. You probably wouldn’t be able to do a 50 on it but you could build another kind of pedestal mount for the 50 in the back like the Nam' gun trucks. 30 on a ring and 50 in the back.
Another option is one of the WWII style...
Looks good, just watch out for one thing. This goes for anyone with any motor that ditches the factory air box or even adds one like this. The factory air cleaner is picking up say -10 to 120 degree F outside air. You will be sucking in 210+ air through the blue one. That air is less dense. So...
I think I would probably upgrade if you think that is what you want in the long term. I think parts will only get harder to find. New 4L80Es seem super cheap IMO. Same with 6.5's. My thinking would be that there is alot of them around right now but they will only get harder to get once they are...
If you do some re search you can buy S-cam backing plates that bolt on and will use the standard drum. Its not that complicated. I think you could buy the pads or they may have been discontinued but I found wider ones that could be made to work. IIRC it was about $600 a hole.
Hey guys,
I know this has been posted previously but I'm looking for an up to date idea. I'm looking for parts for a GMV/Dumvee project. Looking for a hard top with ring mount but I have heard of people using a ring mount and soft top.
Thanks

Hey all,
Im sure most of you know of the hot rod deuce project I have had in the works for about 5 years now. Its always changing and will probably never be done. I have had many many requests for pictures and information about the project. I decided that it would be a good idea to just start...
