I stopped and visited my friend in western Colorado this summer. This is one of his many toys. It's a garage kept Haaglund, and he keeps it around for playing in the snow mostly but I got to take take a ride in it across the high desert plains. Quite the interesting vehicle definitely could feel...
It's been a few years. I might just have to head down there. I don't have a Green Machine anymore but my truck camper looks like an S-250! I do still tow my M416 though. I only wish I'd be driving this beauty I saw this summer in SW Montana, at Quake Lake
You could see where the old metal frame of the trailer had actually torn or ripped like paper. The spare tire mount that I got from Etrailer although a great addition, was kind of loose in the trailer hitch socket that I had welded to the back of the trailer and all the bumps and potholes and...
Evolution modification solution
Howdy everyone. Evolution of my trailer. My truck camper looks like an S-250.
Then the bumper on the trailer fell off in Montana.
Yerp, then on to everywhere else I don't currently live. Hopefully end up kayaking with orcas in NW Washington state near Olympic Peninsula and San Juan Islands before heading home. Depends on finances. Gonna hit approx 20 national parks and prolly double that in national forests plus BLM lands...
I look forward to seeing you there! Look for a blue, and a yellow kayak (2) on top of a 2012 F150 and of course my trailer. I'll be there by the 15th or 16th.
Another great one is Wildernest. It turns a truck topper into a fold out tent. Good luck sir. There's a big expo coming up in May in Flagstaff Az. Called the Overland Expo may 16-18th. There will be lots of RTT vendors as well as exhibitors and off road demonstrations, courses etc. lots and lots...
RTT's.
There are many manufacturers out there, I would just search around. Tepui Tents is pretty inexpensive. Or you could build a platform on your trailer and just put up a dome tent. Others have done so. Sorry if that's not enough. Crazy busy right now. Mombasa RTT's are decent too.
I picked up the tent used from Chief 919. But you can find them from many retailers...CVT, Tepui, just do a google search for " Roof Top Tents" also check out the forum ExpeditionPortal.com many links to great deals and makers of tents awnings ideas etc.
FYI the tents are not cheap, they run...
I'm not sure what you mean but the panel weighs in at 25lbs, the mount is rated for something like 80-125lbs and I use a couple of mini bungee cords to keep it from blowing around in the wind. The only downfall of the setup is even though there are 4 pivot points the last and only vertical one...
I've been gone for a while working on my expedition trailer project. I will no longer be sleeping in the back of the M101A2. I now have a new palace. Equipped with a roof top tent, changing room annex, an awning with screened in room, an on demand hot water shower with shower stall and an on...
I was looking for one of those pioneer trailers when I bought the shorter older version sight unseen. The idea was to convert it into a camper. I'm just too durn tall and had to sell it. You could mount a roof top tent on the one you have because of the top is flat. Hello Phil.
First off, hello to everyone out there in green steel land. I haven't been on in a while since I sold my cucv and m101a2. But I have recently been doing a modification build on my M416 jeep trailer. I decided I didn't want to sleep in the back of the truck anymore since Bayleaf kept peeing on my...
