I only wanted 4". Not wanting to spend more on the lift than I did on the truck led me to RC. I added 37s to reduce the rpms. I had to trim the fenders a bunch to just get it off the trailer. 6" was the only lift I could find for the k30 with the exception of ORD. They were way to expensive with...
That's what I hear but don't understand the logic? The driveshaft is coming out of the transfer case and is rubbing the crossmember. If I lower the TC how does it not reduce the angle? It's looking like I'll be pulling the crossmember to replace the TC mounts and cut out a clearance spot for the...
I was thinking about cutting out a space for the ujoint on the cross member. Just didn't think I would need to do this. Doesn't the motor mounts keep the motor in line and not move it?
another thing I noticed is the motor sounds different now. Rpm specific. Is there anything else I might be...
Trying to not start another thread. Installed 6" RC lift on my 1008. My front driveshaft at the TC is rubbing on the cross member. I used the stock hardware to drop the TC but it's still rubbing pretty bad. Can I make my own drop spacers and if so, how big should they be? Hoping to tap the...
Honestly I hate to see your wanting to strip a perfectly good axle. Why don't you just order the 4.56 ring and pinion and a Detroit locker for your axle that already has the disk brakes? You could sell the cucv axle to pay for most of it

I think I paid around $400 for mine. Complete except the canvas is a little weathered. Sun had been rough on the zippers. I love how useful the trailer is and would like to pick up another. My current one is my mobile workshop.
Texandy-8 th400s huh? Pretty good deal?

I am in the market. Just need two I think. Mounted all my 37s do dually rims in preparation for my cucv wrecker build. It looked funny with dually wheels on the rear with the srw bed so I robbed my 1102 for its wheels and tires but the front still has the dually wheels. Would like to be able to...
i have the 60gs waiting to go in. Only need about 2-3 seconds with the glow plugs on for her to start right up. This winter should be a good test to how they are performing.

Haha! Thanks. Need the lifting abilities! When I get it blasted and corrected, I might have to give you a hollar. I don't have any trees large enough to use as an anchor thus the need for a gantry crane!
brett
If you need a place in tx to park your wrecker for a few weeks you can use my place. Just figured I'd throw it out there. Sure would come in handy for my wrecker conversion!
however, if you come across a gantry crane in your travels please let he know. I'll try to make it to CS. I'm about 40...
I measured them both. I wish we had the AC conversation earlier! I wonder if it would be easier to move the axle back of cut the fenders wide on the front. Here I thought this wasn't going to be a headache!
I'm really only concerned with how to safely and easily move the bed around to weld...
If I remember right, the ca length is within 1". The only thing that concerns me is I might have to cut about three inches off the rear of the frame. I'll go out and measure everything again.

Here's a current pic of truck, wrecked bed in pieces and the reason my wife is less than thrilled I'm building a wrecker! The house isn't going to be yellow either!
Brett
Been tearing apart the bed to prepare for sand blasting. Not making the progress I wanted to with the weather being a little on the warm side, building our house and smashing my finger which blew it open! So far the boom is apart and all the electrical is stripped. I have been pricing elec/hyd...
