    Rear winch suggestions

McSpeed’s thread on getting stuck has me considering adding a rear winch to my M1165A1. I do go in the backcountry a lot and getting stuck is a real concern. I will shortly have a 17K front mount winch permanently installed. I am just toying with options, but I am wondering what people who...

BFGoodrich Baja TA vs Goodyear Wrangler MT?

There has been an advisory on MT/Rs for catastrophic sidewall failures that have led to rollovers and deaths. https://www.benning.army.mil/MCoE/MCoE-Safety/Content/PDF/SOUM%2018-007%20Premature%20Sidewall%20Blow-outs%20TASKORD.pdf

    Registering in Colorado

There is a lot of nonsense in this thread about Montana registration insurance and LLC ownership so let me set the record straight. 1. A sole asset LLC that owns a vehicle in Montana is absolutely legitimate and will be respected by courts if you are sued. Unfortunately the driver of the...

Humvee down! Major stuck off road (video)

I wanted to watch and wanted to be smug that I can't get stuck once I get my front winch in place, but your narration makes me unhappy I haven't put on a rear mounted winch too.

    HMMWVs in Ukraine, intense video

It's combat footage, so you are warned if you click through . . . several armored HMMWVs in combat in Ukraine. Also lots of American weaponry around the HMMWV. https://www.itemfix.com/v?t=j2iki4

Pawn Stars look at a HMMWV

Back on track, I found that out the hard way test driving a buddy’s 6.5/4. I wouldn’t say the 6.5 Turbo is fast, but at least I am not in the right lane with 4 ways on being passed by loaded semis!

    REV truck?

The REV B parts are getting more expensive - and in the case of a couple bits, hard to find - but overall they represent a vast improvement over earlier models. The real question is cost: higher upfront cost, and higher maintenance costs -- and is that worth it you? That depends on your...

Pawn Stars look at a HMMWV

From their new spin-off show, "Pawn Stars Do America". Advance to about 36:43 for the scene. The Pawn Stars passed. I would have also - the 6.5 non-turbo doesn't have the juice to run up and down I-70 in Colorado. https://play.history.com/shows/pawn-stars-do-america/season-1/episode-1

    REV truck?

I think I'm going to get one of these 4 mile trucks to use as a parts donor.

    REV truck?

This was worth it as a parts truck. And is a REV B truck worth it? Up to you. It's definitely better but costs more.

OUT AND ABOUT WITH MY HMMWV

Corporal Skellington manned the turret for this evening’s Halloween events.

What have you done to your HMMWV today/lately

Not quite what did I do to my HMMWV as for my HMMWV . . . Bought a new (to me) roll cab to hold all of the tools that keep her running.

HMMWV in snow and what tires work out best

Coug I agree at first my HMMWV was unstoppable - both good and bad - but I found with some active brake pumping it performs quite well in the snow. Definitely needs longer stopping distance than a car, but it is 3.5 tons. I would love to get ahold of a Ricardo Defense ABS kit for the HMMWV -...

HMMWV in snow and what tires work out best

I have the Cepeks, http://www.hummerproducts.com/hummer-tires.asp#&panel1-6 Top quality rim, a bit more expensive than Black Rhino but better built, higher load capacity, and factory offset. That makes them the clear choice.

HMMWV in snow and what tires work out best

I run BFG T/A KO2s on much more severe winter weather than you'll ever see in Connecticut and they are fantastic in the snow. You'll need to switch to 17" rims for that (I don't think they offer a 16.5 version for the 2 piece military rims). And studs will destroy your driveway and garage and...

    Bogert jack, storage location??

I carry mine in the backseat. I also carry a hi-lift. I like to have options when in the country.

    HMMWV Headlight Issue

As Coug said, those Trucklites are plug and play. They are designed for the military HMMWV and used on the later model HMMWVs. One of the best bang-for-buck upgrades I made on my 1165.b
