You might have to email or call places like Eastern or Memphis. Just google the part number and that might get a hit. Some parts just aren't listed on their sites because there's so many different parts. And you may be able to just get a new gasket for it.
5 minutes with a shovel would've fixed that. Less time that it would take to run out and wind back up all that cable. Some people just have to do it the complicated way.
VERY NICE! I'm not going anywhere near as far as you did, I hope mine looks at least half as good.
On a related note, anyone notice that the hardtop liner looks just like the same material that PT mats are made out of?? Hmmmm...
Don't worry, when an engine is starting to run away, your little Jiminy Cricket on you shoulder will be telling you to "RUN, FORREST, RUN!!! An engine that is starting to run away is readily apparent, and should scare the bejeebus out of any normal person, who will automatically get the ****...
Strobes pretty much suck. Especially amber. LED's are the way to go, they're WAY brighter. Yeah, a little pricy, but they also last longer. And they now make a "rotating" LED.
Yeah, but MV's don't smell that bad either. I wouldn't want to live next to a bunch of snobs with codes out the whazoo. I know some places that have to get permission from an arborist to cut down dead trees, and I mean the bark is falling off.
HEY!! You need to be finding me a left fender first! Don't I have you under contract?? BTW, I got those Budd parts, thanks a million, I owe you some beers!
For $1000, somebody fairly good with sheet metal could probably fab a hardtop. It also seem weird that a winch would get more money that even a "new" engine.
I would recommend that when you mount it on the frame, you use a couple of washers to leave a space between the mount and the frame. That way moisture doesn't cause rusting there. I'm going to use grade 8 washers when I remount mine. I had heavy rust on the frame and mount where they were...
The belt flying off and hitting the inside of the fender well or hood probably caused that bang you heard. You might be able to find some marks where it hit. There's a lot of power behind them when they break. I've seen them rip out cooling and oil lines.
Well today was a good day. I went to pull off the spare tire mount, and found it would be virtually impossible without pulling the air tanks out. The bed is off so I can get to the bolts. NONE of them stripped out, that's gotta be a first. All the air line fittings came off easily too...
Most guys on here are GROWN MEN, not just some "dude". Many have served in the military, or have been in this particular hobby for quite some time and have extensive experience and knowledge and are due some respect. Especially when their their title is ADMINISTRATOR, and yours is PRIVATE...
I never really cared for Cat engines, they never seemed to be especially powerful or sound all that distinctive. They're reliable, just nothing to get excited about to me. Of course for a deuce, that's a lot of engine. I'd rather have a Cummins personally, just my flavor.
