I don't know for sure, but touching your "drip point" and smelling the oil might help your diagnosis. I am guessing that it won't be hydraulic fluid. Although, the hose connector may well be leaking too. The point of the drip for that may not actually be dripping though... It...

Well... I think they look just fine as you built them.
It would be neat if you could cut out holes in the rims - but that will take a lot of time.
Honestly, I am not sure the time would be worth the effort...

Since we are shooting in the dark - what about getting yourself a can of Either (Starting Fluid)? Crank the truck, then spray the left side of the motor. Then around back and down the right side. If you find a vacuum leak, the motor will speed up... Cheap way to hunt a really odd problem.

Sounds to me like the pump will be just fine. You replaced all the tubing from the tank to the motor - if I remember correctly? 1/4 inch to 5/16 isn't going to matter. If you were guzzling fuel like back in the day when I was racing - yeah. That might be a problem but you won't have that...

And the sad part is that they loose it for a week. Then magically they "find" it again - all over their system. Heck, I am not even getting marketing mail in my home mailbox. For over a week, I open the lid, look in, and NOTHING. Just a brief rant. We are in "substitute hell" on my home...

Well... It seems already (based on your question) that you have already been running this generator for some time? What you need to watch for is "wet stacking". That tends to clog up the muffler and start spitting out chunks of carbonized material when the load increases. Have you seen any...

Me personally, I wouldn't spend the money for a "grounding harness". They more often than not they don't solve your problem. Going through every connection with a wire brush and applying a bit of anti-oxidant paste will do more to solve your problems than anything else you can do.
