I learned something about using the hollow stud as a clue about gear oil in the bearings. I have my CTIS wheel valves removed for now and have brass pipe caps on the hollow studs. Three rear studs dumped a lot of gear oil and grease was washed completely from the outer bearing.

The CTIS will work as long as there's space in the hub for air to flow from the inner wheel bearing into the hole in the side of the hub that's piped into the hollow wheel stud.

I was thinking about a 2:1 reduction gearbox between the Vortec and the original 5-ton transmission. We'd be seeing up to 760 lb-ft at the gearbox output.
Does a reduction gearbox like that exist, or would that be a custom component?
Would that much torque break anything on the driveline...
What happens there?

I think there might be a bleeder on the air pack too, but I say that having never done brake work on my truck. Someone else here might think of other bleeder locations.
You just gave me another idea - make a grease reservoir to fill on the small diameter end of the bearing and use some kind of plunger to force the stuff down into the race - pack a whole chunk of the bearing in one go(y)
The M35A3 inner bearings are completely sealed on the larger diameter side and therefore can't be packed from that side without destructive disassembly. They're prepacked by Timken and probably considered completely disposable when following the packing interval in the LO.

The TM says the wheel weight is installed after the clamp ring nuts are installed, which isn't how my truck was manufactured. If it were my truck, I'd put the wheel weight on the appropriate clamp ring stud and secure it with another nut. The CTIS stone shield is tightened only to 60-80 ft-lbs...
I don't have a grease needle here - something I need to add to my toolbox. The guy I originally quoted tried a grease needle and it wouldn't fit between the cage and inner race - maybe his grease needle was too big? 🤷♂️
