This is my 85 Chevrolet through the years I have had to replace more then a few times even covering with a dash mat nothing lasts more then a few years till I did this about 3 years a go and cover it with a dash mat because I just happen to have one .To get the foam off the metal brake clean...

I made this in high school in late 70's . vary handy to have around.

One year I drove my m52a2 with a m269 (wrecker low boy ) with m211 loaded on it and lost a piston .I hired a tow truck to haul it all home 25 miles $ 365 .I could have limped it to some where and parked it and use the m211 to tow the m52a2 home and then went back and picked up the trailer...

Try a shop that works on truck springs and they can bend them out of some bar stock or they may have some already made but they will have threads on them .

I would like to see a better park brake on these trucks at least one that can be trusted to hold a loaded truck on a hill .

Is your engine a Chevrolet 235 or a GMC 270 ?

Thinking out loud any way to get a u bolt around one of them to pull from or pry with some help .Maybe use a angle grinder and cut a grove to get a pry bar in .

When replacing lower torque rods on a trailer and welding a chain and binder between the torque rod ends on the axle back the nuts off but leave them on tighten the binder and hit the mount the shock will free them when both are free take the nuts off .

Maybe lock a rifle to it if you hang your rifle from the windshield thumb screw ?

I have welded a few links of chain to them and used a binder to hold pressure on them and hit them with hammer .

You might measure from the axle to the frame on both sides and compare that to what other members trucks are setting at . You may just need to add a leaf or two to each side to get the height you want . I added a few spring leafs to my M211 that I made into a tractor just so it set level .

Slip yoke on drive shaft to radiator shell 2 1/8 inches grease fitting is not under the shield .
