The frame rail wash out is a very good idea. I have an old m107 water buffalo and I was amazed at the coarse sand almost like small gravel very colorful that washed out. Never seen anything like it and I suspect from some exotic location...

Make sure the hydraulics are working properly. Very unusual that happened to both sides. I would look at the master cyl and shock to make sure the brakes are not staying engaged / slightly dragging.

finding a reasonable 200a kit with brackets and wiring is doable. Finding a working/tested 200amp unit with regulator not crazy stupid priced will be a not so pleasant search.

Typically on a yellow narton box, The flashing could be the thermal temp switch on the water crossover pipe. It has to be matched to the box if you are going to replace it.
