Bloody hell. 1,800 is the cheapest/best option for a replacement? I hope my stuff lasts awhile. Really an unusual vehicle to have the opportunity to experience. Worth every penny if you still have pennies left.
I’m willing to learn. It was a total shitshow! I have never ever had any problems with a simple belt change but I couldn’t get it off any other way. It’s embarrassing to admit. I did want to remove air cleaner anyways because during the de mil process they moved my coolant tank to where I only...
Got the new belt on today. What a pain it was. I had to take the fender liner out and the air cleaner off to get the tool in to release the tensioner. Probably could’ve done it without all that if I had a little help. Squeak is gone and that’s all that matters. Next is gasket on top of the tank...
Might be worth a phone call. I was under the impression that they insure sports cars and motorcycles and whatever’s unusual and I didn’t think they had a age limit/ minimum. I have appointment on December 6th for DMV and hopefully I will have my title by then. I will start driving it on the 28th...
Mine is a 2002. Did you do the online quote? It’s my understanding that military vehicles are separate and don’t have any year restrictions. The girl on the phone ran everything and said it went thru with no issues. Maybe because mine is so close to 20 years old?
I eyeballed the pulleys and I will give them a wiggle and roll when I change the belt. I found it the TM and I am above 196,??? I don’t have ac but I have the bracket and a pulley where I believe it goes. Said I needed the 112” belt. I couldn’t find a number on my belt anywhere and now I can’t...
That pulley/belt and fan system scare me to death while running. I had rather change the belt than get that close to it with soap in hand. I will see if I can find the tensioner for a decent price and change it also while I’m in there.
It’s like a bunch of V’s but all together. I did check alignment and tensioner looked to be in the middle of travel. I was thinking belt was bad from sitting wrapped around the smallest pulley for 20 years. Probably not a bad idea to replace anyways
I go get a automotive stethoscope and I about burst my eardrums put it on. I thought I got this now. I touched every pulley and all were about the same noise level. Still can’t find the squeak. I thought I will take the belt off and spin pulleys and see if I can find it. I couldn’t get the belt...
I have a pulley squeak and it works like a tachometer. I have been chasing it for about a week. It was fine when I got it and out of nowhere it starts. It’s driving me crazy and I can’t find it. Can’t post video here for some reason
I have seen some that are really bad and it had to take longer to make a mess like that then removing 2 bolts. I don’t understand because that’s a part of the firewall and forms the cowling for the engine cover. You think they have a training course for it? No don’t hold your ax like that hold...
I would be happy with the factory bulb. I don’t think I need anything brighter. I tried the federal led dash light bulb in it but it didn’t work. I might have a problem other than bulb.
I was looking at the same kit from the same place. I don’t want green seat belts. I don’t have any experience with that site but I would’ve ordered it if it had black belts. If you read ad closely it says for the passenger behind the driver. I didn’t really understand if that included everything...
I think the best thing to do is check/ change fluids and drive the piss out of them. Mine has been sitting forever and the more I drive it better it gets.
