Finally got around to replacing the cover panel for the A/C unitl access. I blew off going down the highway somewhere. I just used sheet metal I had onhand.
Fortunately the piano hinge was still on the truck (actually, it had fallen down behind the cab and wedged near the hydraulic pump) and...
Mine are the 50 gal water tank and the battery bank. I have space allocated under the bed for the water tank but for reasons that you mention, I find it less than ideal. My batteries are either going aft above one of the fixed mounting point s (or they could still end up in a box external to...
Oh, people have done it. People do a lot of things with these trucks. Like reduce the departure angle and then go try to tear the hab off using terrain for grins.
But it will fit up top. It will also fit bolted to either side, bolted to the front, slung underneath the transfer case. or...
Yep.
Purchase some $20 civilian LEDs. A bracket or a pedestal/bucket from the civilian market.
Either way is a fraction of what the scalpers want for the drop-in surplus LEDs that fit the OEM buckets..
It's the same $20 pair of LEDs period. Not $400 LEDs.

Somebody with the CAD skills needs to 3D print a cover ring for the LMTV bucket that allows for the use of a civilian 4" round LED.
It's another one of those things that would sell a million copies (unless it's priced by one of the point-of-compass skalperz)...
Most states have some guidelines/manual on "assembled vehicles" that define the requirements. These can typically be found at the DMV website.
Here's the one for Texas (*see 11.2 for the RV requirements)...
Step 1) move from CA
States that allow for RV conversions typically have a list of like 10-12 things that would potentially make it an RV and you have to have 4-6 of the items on the list done to qualify as a conversion. You then get it weighed, show pics of the installed items, and then...
Looks OK, but that driver-side antenna mount is way overkill and adds a lot of weight.
You might want to pull that off and send it to me for proper disposal....
;p
I haven't decided if I want to fab one or just mount all my antennas onto the roof rack.
Rgr all.
Yeah, I was just wondering which seats were in your truck given the mix of variants that it consists of.
Do you have the box with the headrest pad above and behind the driver?
I can't find the post, but somewhere you mentioned your truck rode "washbvoard" rough.
Do you have the A0 or the A1R seats?
The A0 seats have the metal plate that your ass hits on every bump..
The A1R seats are suspension (pretty much look the same, but no metal plate and have much...
I'd leave the spare at home long before I'd add that much weight over the cab.
I do intend to have some stowage above the cab, but nothing my crippled old ass can't carry up a ladder with one hand. I don't even like the builds where people put those giant boxes full of crap up top that takes...
I'm looking to do a wired solution on the dash or column.
Am I mistaken in that all I need for my C7 is a 5-pin relay and a switch setup?
