Renewing NOS cab bushings-- is that possible?

Thanks. Yeah, I need three tops and three bottoms (minimum). A gallon of ECON 80 hardness, black UV tint, a can of release, and a gallon of mold 30 runs about $350-400 shipped. That's in line with what I can purchase three sets of crusty old NOS bushings That leaves me with a couple spare...

Renewing NOS cab bushings-- is that possible?

Gonna take a stab at this in a couple weeks. Ordering in the materials. What do you recommend as a material for the mold? No 3D printer here, but I have a set of OEM cab bushings that I can cast a mold. I've only messed with this sort of thing once for a single piece I needed and I actually...

Hub Drain Plug / Acceptable amount of contaminants?

Seems like old residual gunk? I mean, I'd think that ten miles isn't enough to wear anything enough that it creates a reside. Is this present on both the front (independent) hubs as well as the rear (shared with dif) hubs? I'd do another flush after awhile to see if it's simply residual.

    Moving my Transmission cooler

Just the truck. I've only ever had one occasion where I had to get the shovel out as a result of the trailer and that was more my fault for coming to a stop when I knew that I shouldn't have. In my experience, floatation/footprint is far less of an issue with trailers (no steering, no...

    Just Received My M1078 A0

Yeah, misting is the tell tale. The kit will resolve it. May as well do the latch rebuild while you're at it (it's even easier). There's a few threads in here that have the kit numbers. Colt has a good video of the whole process. And be sure to shop around (as usual, there are scalpers here...

    Moving my Transmission cooler

It's SOP for me to be pulling my M1082 down the beach at 30 mile stretches in axle-deep sand, so I'll take all the cooling I can get. :)

    Just Received My M1078 A0

Grats on the truck ! There are two tanks for the cab/tire lift system. One is at the manual pump and one is up behind the cab/spare. Easiest way I have found is to fill from the upper tank and bleed from the manual pump tank. Certainly start there. If it is leaking/misting oil then the...

    Moving my Transmission cooler

Yeah, it's that extra weight in the RV build combined with the 11 months a year 90 degree S. Texas heat that I want to add the aux cooler. But like you say, most trucks won't need it unless they are heavy towing.

    Moving my Transmission cooler

That's my plan. Or I may go all ghetto red neck and delete the OEM cooler. I have a lot of research to do given mine is a C7 (no telling what the computers will do or think if I add or delete things), but I've seen CAT/Allison powered RVs with aux coolers so the basic idea is out there.

    Moving my Transmission cooler

Yeah, it's a cooler. Never made sense to me that all cars with automatic transmissions ran "cooling" lines into the car/truck's radiator to be bathed in boiling coolant. But that's how it works. I'm adding a aux trans-cooler to my rig. It's the same one mounted upright on the M1089 wreckers...

    Locking T Handles?

I was just responding/posting a working link that Serpico had posted. The one he linked via tapatalk was borked (at least on my browser). Tapatalk doesn't play well with DragonByte and most PC browsers. It also can bork the images posted thru Tapatalk as DragonByte can't store them locally...

    Locking T Handles?

Yeah, he said he's aware of such options.. But he wants to use the OEM hole with zero modification. I'm not aware of anything that fits w/o at the very least some filing/grinding.

    Locking T Handles?

Yeah, Tapatalk borks links, too.. It just doesn't play well with Dragonbyte (the forum software). https://www.steelsoldiers.com/threads/what-have-you-done-to-your-fmtv-or-lmtv-today.165843/page-52#post-2442099 https://www.amazon.com/Sarasota-Quality-Products-LL902-Stainless/dp/B09GL4ZQDD But...

Newbie looking for a TM for a 2006 M1148 A1R LHS not found here in TM area. TM-9-2320-392-10...

The A1R stuff isn't in the public domain. I've been trying to find the TM's for three years now. The material handling bits should be the same across the variants.

What have you done to your FMTV or LMTV today

Yeah, they are blood refrigerators from medical units. Can also set to freezer mode. I added hinges, gas struts, and a couple rubber latches to the removable lid. Then put in a plexiglass floor with vents (it had no bottom inside as the bags sit in racks). Added the light and USB port...

What have you done to your FMTV or LMTV today

I go to the beach. I go to the beach a LOT. I use my phone at the beach. My phone needs to be charged. I drink beer. I keep beer cold in the cooler. I take the cooler to the beach. I drink beer at the beach. I charge my phone in my beer cooler. *that section of the box is external to...

    M1089A1 Trans Cooler Question

The M1089 is beyoind my scope (only had the four wheel variants myself). Wild guess, but could it be a failed temp sensor? Ie: the engine fan will come on at start up but then shut down until the 200 degree mark where the sensor turns it back on Perhaps the trans cooler works in a similar...
