1078a1 wipers wont return to "park"

Glad to see you fixed it. Yeah, the magic smoke was clearly allowed to escape from that old harness. Mine isn't an electrical issue (which is a good thing I guess). Mine are parking in the vertical because they have jumped their return tab. I know this because they were originally...

    M1078A1 -10 Technical Manual

Hmmm I thought that one (the one that I have that I got from him) was public. In any event "no way" is pretty much subjective. If it's not illegal to redistribute, then I can't agree. And even if it is illegal, people here have it... So exactly what is the hesitation? Where do we...

    10' Cabover camper on a M1078

Found this one, but not the ones I'm looking for. I swear one of them was from SS. Seem to recall it for sale a couple years back. But it's been done. Lots...

    10' Cabover camper on a M1078

I'll dig thru the files. I must have a thousand images in my build folders. I want to say one of them was someone from here on SS even.

    10' Cabover camper on a M1078

Yep. I have pics of a couple rigs that did that. I'll see if I can locate them..

    CHUCKY'S TREE HOUSE !

Any more pics of that front winch mount? I've been drawing up a few concepts from receivers, to bolt-on's using the OEM shackle points, to full frame extensions. I sort of want to have the ability to mount fore or aft. And am I not seeing which winch you settled on.

Survey...... "oil line of death 3116" (governor oil feed line)

That's why I added the concept of an audio and visual alert prior to the shutdown, but I do get the concern. You would want the alarms to proceed the shutdown. Hell, you may want a shutdown override as mentioned upthread just to buy time in a high traffic situation an well. Safety before...

Survey...... "oil line of death 3116" (governor oil feed line)

Easier and cheaper to just slap a flex hose on there. I mean *could* create a way to shut your engine off if the pressure fails for *any* reason. A simple dummy light/audio alarm connected to a pressure sensor and a way to kill the engine when it trips. IMO, you're more likely to have your...

What have you done WITH your FMTV ( trips, Rescues etc) NOT: fixes, updates etc

Just camping on the beach. I do it a couple times a month. :)

    LMTV rocker switches

But they aren't green nor do they have a NSN so clearly someone can't charge $60 each for those $12 switches. No, even if they are better they will never truly be "surplus" thus not better. Buy *real* surplus. Much more scarce. Totally worth the price gouging. You don't want the real...

    SHC35 and SHC60 Battery

Annnnnnd Horror Freight was out of the small knockoff Pelican cases. I was looking at alternatives there when It dawned on me, I have lots of them in the supply room. A 50cal can is just wide enough to hold a pair side-by-side. An 7.26 can is the perfect width for the batteries, but not...

    SHC35 and SHC60 Battery

Still reading up in the Op and Repair manual how the unit regulates the exiting OEM pad. For one of my two heaters I will use the OEM element (it's still good).

    SHC35 and SHC60 Battery

My plan at this stage is to place the two SLA batteries in a Harbor Freight case. I'll re-purpose the box-mounted fuse holders and connector from the OEM battery. I kind of like the idea of keeping the battery box external to the heater (the damned thing is heavy enough to drag around w/o the...

    SHC35 and SHC60 Battery

The pad that was in the battery box was just slipped between the two rows of cells as in the pics above. Once I pried the batteries lose the pad didn't have much footing in the epoxy. This is the 7w element I ordered. My plan was to use one under each battery...
