One of the simplest test you can do is to remove the horn from the truck and use a couple of wire leads and a battery to test it.
The horn circuit is very basic.
Here is the circuit from the wiring diagrams in the TM 9-2320-289-34 tech manual. They are in the appendix. Please read the first few pages of Section 2 Troubleshooting to learn how to read the diagrams.

Doors get changed all the time so the door plate can be incorrect.
Have the towbar, feet and pins. Need to make arrangements to pick it up before saturday.
You will need some tow lights.
Herber Springs is a good drive. If you do flat tow it, make sure you keep an eye on the wheel bearings (heat) and the tires. I may have some spares tires on 16" Chevy rims.
75mph cruising will eat the 6.2Ls lunch. Even with an transmission upgrade. The 4.56 gearing is the issue.
The 700r4 is a good transmission but a 4l80e would be better for your needs. The adapter to install a Cummins to any GM transmission will set you back some serious $$$.
