I am leaving today for the Czech Repblic, so no time today. However, if you cannot get those details in the USA, I might try through Commerce here (see thread oldies selling oldies). Not sure if the European filter numbers are any good in the USA and maybe they made a different version for the...
When aprking for the winter, do people take specail precautions regarding the fuel in the lines?
Normally, we have winter and summer diesel here. Mine still has summer diesel, but I will not be using it anymore until April. Should I take any specail precautions?
Title says it all, except: how manby liters in the LSD 465 - 1a?
Making the truck ready a?for winter, no idea if the previous owner ever put anti-freeze there. Temps almost never go below 15 Fahrenheit here along the Dutch North Sea cost. Any modern car anti-freeze will do I suppose?
OK, we started check the steering. Right turn is no problem, left turn looks like no power steering at all and something is blocking it, very difficult, some "bumps when turning the wheel. More specific, when the wheels are full right, going to the middle is doable but going beyond the middle...
OK. We maybe have it fixed. Went to these commerce guys. They had a brand-new LDS 465 1A sitting on the shelf (4 meters above the ground). They took it down and we discussed possibilities. End result: it can only be the filter housing and gasket.
So we cleaned it again, fastened it again...
So I filled up the oil, no leaks, and today started here up. Unfortunately, I was alone, My friend was unavailable. Engine started and ran. Lighter smoke out of the holes in the lower section of the exhaust, darker out of the top of the stack. Starter button and starter engine also worked.
It...
Ok, just a check. Several of the manuals show the starter button at different locations. My starter button, in a 1973 M51A2, is located in the uppermost left corner of the dash board, TM ...10 and ..20 show the button in a much more central position, lower part of the dash board just to the...
I am busy with the M51 to M52 switch, and am now looking at where to place the air and electrical connections for the semi-trailer. Looking at some of pictures and video's of the M52A2, it seems to me that they moved the spare wheel about 10" more to the driver side. The original vertical...
Tried to remove the starter button but can not get it out of its hole because it gets blocked behind the dash by a steel plate or something. Tried wiggeling and everything. Any tricks?
Or do I really need to pull the entire dash from left to right away to get to this stupid button (if so...
Does anybody has a wirding diagram for the M52A2 truck?
Diagrams exist for the Deuce and the 800 series, but none for the M5xA2 series?
People tried finding a general 5-ton M5x wiring diagramyears ago in this thread, without success it sems. Anything new?
All the outside nuts are(and were) tight and the lubrication points are now lubricated. Hopefully tomorrow the 10W oil will arive so we can refill the hydraylic system.
Did not try the adjust screw yet, will do that once the engine is running again and the new oil in.
The previous owner...
I first did not find that groove, thought you ment in the foot of the base, like vertically. Then I got the new rings and started swearing because they were too big...than the light bulb went of and I recognized the groove and now it fits perfect (I hope).
Filled her up but waiting with firing...
CDL for your and especially my safety.
The CDL SHOULD be a big thing, HAS to be a BIIIGGGGGG thing. You are not giving the keys to a heavy truck to be driven profesionally to somebody because he/she has earned enough airmiles, do you?
The times where you can say "here are the keys, you will...
I was with the Wiggers Group, they were recommeneded. Initially they said that even going to Czech Republic for museum actions was no problem, occasionally doing some work was no problem, as long as I stayed belwo 8000 km per year. Premium would be 120 Eur per year. They gave me an intial cover...
