This is why you buy an A3 with a GREEN CAT engine in it. You don't have to pay yellow prices.
Where's the popcorn... here comes the A2 vs. A3 again, at least it has been a week(?) since the last time?
I would love to attend a GA Rally, however, I'm not sure if we have enough tow bars and spare parts to get all the Minnesota trucks the 1,500 miles down there AND back home again!
As for the snow, when it's there for 6 months out of the year, you just get used to it. Besides, that's why we...
The purpose of this thread was for those of us in the area to start talking and see who is interested and go from there. I'll be happy to help coordinate something once I'm back. If I stay on schedule, I should be back to MN in early January. Now, I have not picked up my truck yet, it ran...
I think it would even be fun if we just took our trucks out to lunch somewhere or something simple like that and worked up to a bigger rally. We have the interest in the area, so I see no reason we couldn't do a few smaller events a year, then plan for a bigger weekend long event? I'm open to...
There has been a lot of interest in a rally in the midwest. I propose something this winter in the Minneapolis / St. Paul metro area; start small and build from there. The topic comes up in other threads, so I figured we might as well start our own.
Hang in there! Like others have said, these vehicles have sat for years with limited use, and no use while at GL. Once you're up and running on a regular basis, it's much easier to stay that way. This goes for any of the vehicles. The truck you take out of the motor pool that has been...
Good to hear noone was hurt and no serious damage. I would have loved to write up the police report on that one... "the driver or vehicle 1, made a turn and drove directly into the side vehicle 2 (a bright red military truck). Driver of vehicle 1 stated she "did not see the big red truck."
We will have to either do something simple this winter or look at something more official in summer / fall 2012. I won't be back in the states until after the holidays. My A3 was good when I bought it this summer, but I haven't been there to do anything with it or even pick it up since then...
:ditto: The joy of the CTIS on the deuce (and the other military vehicles), it is a little unnerving to hear it keep doing stuff when you're not directly controlling it. It takes a bit to get used to and trust in the equipment knowing what's normal.
Given the cold weather up where you are (and the fact that the CTIS is suppose to be turned off in the cold - see below), I could see not wanting to keep it. However, I agree with Rustygears, might just be easier to cap it and leave it attached and just not use it than to rip everything off...
The deuce is good offroad, but it's NOT a rock crawler or good on those narrow mountain trails. Heck, we should just have a rally in a big snow filled parking lot this winter! Test out that 6x6 action... I think the midwest can provide a little snow for us.
