Got the shock today. Talk about a waste. We wonder why cost is up in America. This giant cardboard box for the smallest shock. Also a side by side comparison for those that are looking for a good alternative to the military shock.
I had my Fiance step on the base so I could get the top...
The seat shock finally bit the dust on the videos posted above. Ordered a new monroe 66104. It's used in atvs. Gas shock. It's 1 inch shorter give or take than the military shock. I have put them in 4 deuce seats and they work awesome.
No leaks! After truck is warm oil pressure drops 35psi at idle. Under throttle it's about 70psi warm. Much more accurate than the old sending unit. Truck ran flawless. Below are some posted links of the truck with the gauges showing pump pressure, egts, boost, etc.
Didnt get any photos of the an line behind the dash but I got it to fit. I got a photo of the an line attached to the block. I removed the speedometer cable and used that hole to insert the new line. Will fire truck up tomorrow and make sure there's no more leaks.
Thought I was out of the woods but putting the gauge cluster back in caused a leak near the fitting at the gauge. Not much room behind that cluster. Luckily I had some -4an ptfe line with fittings. Can support more pressure and larger diameter. I moved the location of the line and I'm going...
Got the gauge installed. Put a T fitting at the block so I can run a fass down the road. Used a 24v led green bulb like other gauges so it works with high/low function. Purged the air from the gauge. Gauge reads 85psi old. Old gauge was 60psi cold. Overall pleased with results. I am...
Got the old oil pressure gauge out. That was not easy. Got the new copper line run and the fitting to the gauge. Tomorrow I'll test it to make sure it works and hook the electric up.
Got the spare tire up in position. So much more room for activities! I kept the spacers I used for the 16r20s in place. Fits well. I'm guessing I lost about 1000lbs of weight switching from 16r20s to 395s.

Here's a drive by at 60mph. Next one is coming back to the shop after a 15 miles test drive.

Ill get some video in the cab and record a longer trip in near future.
Thanks hethead. I'm guessing it's probably around there. The methanol kit at this point is not worth the investment unless you just want it because. Im going to remove it and save it for a future project.
It might be better to have methanol if you don't run an intercooler to help with the...
I took the truck out today for first test drive. Lots of data collected.
1) Truck feels so much lighter. The steering, the ride quality and tire noise dropped dramatically. The brand new tires was a huge bonus. Highly recommend anyone with these trucks to get new tires. Having them...
Got all the clamps installed. Just need to finish a bracket to mount the power steering fluid filter to the side of the c channel now that the intercooler piping takes up the original location.
Here's better photos of the n14 intake on the truck.
Just got 6 of the 395s on. A comparison of 16r20s to 395s. Lot easier to move around that's for sure. Hopefully will test on Monday or Tuesday to see performance gains.
I'm running a #27 button built by premco and the injectors to match at 10% overs. Warren from Premco said with my goals that this will keep the engine well within the safe zone. Im running 750 to 800 degrees egt in #6 cylinder. Going to smaller tires and the intercooler will drop temps even...
Nice build hethead! I know the intercooler can't hurt anything, only help. I took a more conservative approach on fuel but the larger injectors will help some, that's on the list soon.
