Jake brake 25A vs. 25B & their use with a pulse manifold

I found some info on the PACBRAKE website regarding the single vs divided entry turbos and they call out special adjusting screws for divided entry turbo applications. I don't know anything about PACBRAKE but they use Jacobs same nomenclature on things. Maybe some of there parts are...

    Introducing the Soldier B HubHelper!!

I am going to make a new batch of 5 ton hub helpers and a prototype 2-piece 2.5 ton hub helper. Before the laser cuts these out does anybody want a 5 ton version? Please PM me if you do. *Once I have a chance to fit the 2.5 ton version up to an M35 and I'm happy with it I will offer them for...

    M939 Cab Additions/Modifications

Could a front camera record your trips like a dashcam or is it live footage only?

    M939 Cab Additions/Modifications

I really like that rear view camera setup. Can it switch between GPS and camera modes?

    Correct Rifle

Would transport company soldiers ever carry carbines like a CAR-15 or XM-177? I thinking of tankers & artillery personnel who would often carry shorter guns due to space constraints...

Does anyone have any experience with Alpha Tread Tires?

Came across this outfit on Ebay this time and look what the fine print says now:

M939 on YouTube and amazon Prime

I enjoyed watching the youtube portion - your truck looks great! You don't often see people standing next to these and that video showed just how big and tall these 5 tons actually are. Some of that gets lost in pics / videos of trucks by themselves.

What can cause the dipstick to get pushed out?

Those complete dipsticks are cheaper than I expected. Cleaning the draft tube is free so I'll try that first.

What can cause the dipstick to get pushed out?

I need to clean that filter for sure. Is that rubber part available from Cummins or elsewhere?

What can cause the dipstick to get pushed out?

It doesn't seem to matter how tightly I compress the rubber base of the oil dipstick (NHC-250), it continually pushes out about 3/8". My first thought is blow-by or a restricted road draft tube but what else can cause this to happen? Could the rubber be hardened and not grabbing the tube...

    Conflicting Oil Capacity

I had the same issue with my M813 with conflicting quantities in the literature. In the end the Lube Order was correct at 27 quarts for the NHC-250.

What have you done to your 5 ton this week?

I finally got the dual fuel mod done on my NHC-250. As promised by others who have gone before me, that stubborn pipe plug was a royal pain. It took an entire day to remove. After stripping through 3 allen bits, 2 torx bits, 3 easy-out extractors, and after drilling a 1/2" access hole in...

Reconciling differences in mfg. dates - engine vs axles vs vehicle title

A refurb process would usually leave behind an MWO tag or depot data plate wouldn't it? Could the color of an engine be a clue as to being a replacement? My engine is a dark metallic gray color. I see others that are od green or black.

Reconciling differences in mfg. dates - engine vs axles vs vehicle title

My M813 is titled as a '79, the engine was manufactured in 4-'81, and I don't know how to decode my axles tags but I'm trying to figure out which date would be the most accurate in terms of indicating when the truck left the assembly line. Does it make sense for a 4-'81 engine to make it into a...

what have you done with your 5 ton this week

Wow, all those rigs look like they're straight off the showroom floor. Is that cargo truck (M925?) On a short wheelbase frame with a shortened bed or am I seeing an optical delusion? Edit: I think the listing in your signature answered my question. Looks factory- very nice job!

1970 M813 Need Steering Gear Help

I have repair & adjustment info for a Ross HF64 steering gear from a Ford truck shop manual. I don't know what the differences are between yours and this one but they appear similar and it may be close enough. If these don't enlarge enough to read I could take pictures a half page at a...

VIC-1 intercom panel for soft tops

77 AMG, I don't know much about the CVC helmets but they look like they would be fun to use (at least for short durations). Are you going to have helmets on all ends of your intercom?

Post up those Point of View hood shots!

Special request to get picked up on the last day of school in the army truck!

VIC-1 intercom panel for soft tops

I ended up with both the flat plug (E model) and the round style (F model) bailout connectors.
