No that's is not true. If you lift your truck you can use your stock rear drive shaft.

lockers do not need additive. i forgot that the gov lock is spring.

why are you concerned about the rear drive shaft and the T case. I have a 5 inch lift on my truck and I run 37's

I have a craftsman Torque wrench. It is a great wrench. As for Gear Oil you need 80/90W gearoil for both axles and the posi additive for the gov lock. ( rear axle only) and you need Diff cover gaskets you have a 10 bolt axle front and rear.
