well... so far I have plenty fuel, with no air, to the filter (when the vent was open)... but we have not seen a drop come out the injector lines.
I've got all glow plugs pulled, and have all injector lines loose, with one line completely off, yet we haven't seen a drop of fuel.
And we've...
Well, if I had an extra regular block off plate, I could probably make one myself. I don't want to really try it with the original block off plate, as if I screw it up, then I won't be able to run the truck.
Actually, now that I'm thinking about it, I think I can make the whole plate... Its...
I had thought about getting another threaded block off plate before. Guess I should have stuck with that idea.
I'll change my wanted ad and see what I can find.
Thanks
well, I guess the most accurate would be in the head?
There just isn't any more ports open.
Could I pull one of the other sensors, like the glow plug temp sensor or ?, and put it in the this pipe and then install my temp gauge sending unit where it was, and get a more accurate temp?
I...
Hey guys, will this coolant crossover tube fit the 6.2L? It looks like it will.
Someone sent me these pics, it is supposed to be from a HMMWV.
I want to add a port for the the temperature gauge sending unit.
no I didn't crank the injectors. I didn't think you had to on these engines... guess thats why it didn't fire.
Thanks for the info Ken, I'll try that next time after I get this fuel leak fixed...
I was just reading your posts about this on someone elses thread.
Any particular way to tell if it is this switch that is leaking?
Looking at it with the filter on, when its leaking it seems to be coming from somewhere in the lower 1/3 of the filter, as i can see some wet on the side, but...
Finally got everything buttoned back up... again...
I got fuel to the filter, but now when you stop cranking the engine, the fuel filter housing starts leaking... A steady quick drip until the pressure leaks off.
I pulled the new filter and fuel went everywhere as it was under pressure... I...
I tried to look up the napa part number for the rear main seal, which is listed here on SS as being: FPGBS40529.
The closest napa to me is about 60 miles or so. So I tried to cross it at o'reilly, but nothing comes up.
I did find this one on Amazon, which appears to be the right one, fel-pro...
I'd like to tap your knowledge/experience and get your guys opinion... again
The oil pan did not have a gasket, just rtv on it. It had several very small leaks, but I wasn't worried about it before, as the valve cover leaked much more.
Anyway, already cleaned the pan and block of...
Sorry, didn't see this until just now.
I sincerely Appreciate the offer Cucvrus, I really do.
But...
german m1008 said he had the same issue.
The length of the rod is dead on. its just the width.
And no matter what part supplier you look up, they all show the same .499" width size for...
The pics are always appreciated! May help someone else too.
I was going to change the main seal, and even thought about the oil pump... but I don't have them on hand, and the local autoparts store said it would be wednesday before they could get them, due to their "labor day weekend". I don't...
Now the new fuel rod doesn't want to fit...
Just as SS member german m1008 said on my original Parts Wanted ad the other day, that the civy part might be just a little too "wide", and may have to be sanded down.
I tried to put the new one in, without grease first, then with grease, just to...
Yep, I did need a smaller magnet Cucvrus. As my "pen" magnet was just too big.
I knew I used to have some rare earth magnets (neodymium magnets) from some projects back some time ago, but couldn't remember any that would be small enough.
But I was able to find one about the size of a small...
Ok, heres this mornings update:
With the engine in the truck, there is literally no way I can see into the port. Not from the top, nor from the bottom (Just another reason that if I had to do it over again, I would have pulled this engine... as I probably wouldn't have this problem in the first...
Ok.... update and a new mystery....
With another brothers help, we got it all taken apart and everything, and was finally able to get the pan pulled tonight.
One thing, I don't see any cracks in the webbing, the oil pump screen is clean, and everything looks ok.
But the mystery is... the...
LoL I thought about sticking the magnet to the pan already... it is tempting, be a lot easier than pulling the pan.
I also tried to see if the piece that did come out would fit through the oil pan drain hole.... unfortunately it won't, its just a bit to big. So no chance on getting the piece...
I am assuming it was the pump end of the shaft. I am also assuming it must have broke the first time I cranked the engine over to try to prime the fuel system about a week ago. After which I stopped, due to seeing the coolant leak and oil leak, which I had to then pull the radiator and have it...
