Hey all, We have a 1986 M1008, which (short version) blew a head gasket, found out later that both heads are "riddled with cracks". This is our daily driver, we need it to be dependable. So we are looking to install a new engine. I know of the "optimizer" and other upgraded 6.2/6.5's etc...

Well, these gaskets weren't quite that bad, but they were in pretty bad shape. Good to hear that the bottom end is lesser prone to issues. I have read that some of the 6.2's were prone to cracks in the blocks. But you haven't found that to be the case? Thanks for info!
