I put new positive battery cables on the truck and a new front battery. next is swap out new alt with the emergency/ back up alt i need to properly secure them though(the battery's) then new front diff protection and fix my high steer.

some people have issues with the Fuel return line. the one way vavle gets full of crud and needs to be cleaned out.

no off road is not like that. you can drvie your truck in 4 high ( how do you think peolpe drive in snow) you sure your truck slips in 2 wd and jsut not use to a 4x4 truck ? try changing the fluid and the filter and see if that helps.

i dont think it will pass the CA ref board for the motor swap. 79 trucks are still smogged so you need to take everything from the Diesel truck and put it in yours in order to pass the ref board. you will need to take the truck to the dmv ref and have them issue you a new vin saying your truck...
