You can probably register the trailers in Maine over the internet search Maine's website.
If you bought the truck from GL the $60 you though you were going to save isn't such a deal anymore.
Searching you would try "Military trucks" this works good on C/L or "M35A2" or "m35" or whatever variant your looking for.
For the most part the days of buying them from government auctions are long gone . There are a few for sale in the SS classifieds , e-pay ect.
You may still find a few...
Well there is good points to having matching trucks in Alaska , I would guess many parts come from the lower 48 and with 2
you be able to keep one rolling in a pinch. You won't need as many spare parts since the spares will fit either truck. I know the M939 series uses more commercial parts ...

From looking at the number of bolts I would say there is a bunch of stuff bolted to it.
( I've never changed one on a CUCV) But have done some early to mid 90's small block chevy's you...

As I posted the military has a exemption that passes to future owners ( This is clear in the copy of the letter I posted
and has been a key point in title and registering battles in several states) . Here in michigan the courts have ruled no plate light is needed as it didn't come with one...
It may be illegal after you modify the trucks you sell , but it is not illegal to buyers of military trucks that are original.
The military exemption transfers to future owners with the vehicle.
