i think i got lucky on my M1008 it had nothing wrong it save for a bent drive shaft and needing a battery,everything was there they even put new seat covers on the truck.

Get a M1008 if you want to tow

have you changed all your motor and transmission mounts ? on my old 3/4 burban having broken motor mounts led to a cracked fly wheel.

new process gear made the t case not chevy you can check with novac adapters for parts here is a link Parts for Transfer Cases - Novak Conversions they dont show the 208 but they have parts for it jsut email them

the best bet is to junk the 208( the nylon bushings suck ) and get a 205 you can twin stick it so you have have low in the front and high in the rear for wheeling. plus it uses metal rods not alum. people say the 208 has a better low gear but you can re gear a 205 it has gears not chains... or...

march 03 ? batterys are not meant to last more than 5 to 6 years you might want to look at replacing them.
