HA!
I am still VERY green and a noob. I find that if I try to
find awnsers for guys it really sharpens "my" skills in
attempting at dominating these books!
Mr M931 you owe me PICTURES of your truck in DENMARK NOW! :-)
DOH!
How could I forget!
I pulled the thermostat and replaced it.
I used no gasket but I did use a sealant.
The thermostat has a SEAL it slides in and out of
and I replaced it as well. The bottom of a rattle
spray paint can worked WELL to seat the new seal.
Pics as requested.
I replaced the rad/surge tank cap new as well.
There was a valve where the mystery deal is. Anyone know
what it is / was for?
The surge tank to rad hose was made new AND 14" longer.
It allows a guy to lay it in the engine compartment a 'lot nicer.
The hot water heater...
I Just realized you probably said your primary AND secondary gauges
went above 120-125psi correct? If so I might consider replacing
the Govenor ASAP. Have a skilled certified brake mechanic
give that truck a look over my friend. The govenor is all
of 20 or so dollars.
GREAT job! I would love to move mine but
I equally love the storage space. Moving them
also lowers teh COG of the vehicle as well, a lot,
no but it does.
Now you have room to mount 3 MasterCraft
seats all on stock spring over shock pedestals!
Here is what I did.
On either side of the radiator at the bottom are two plugs, I pulled
them and installed Butterfly valves w/ caps.
ALL radiator hoses were pulled down to the individual piece.
Everything washed and examined.
The radiator was filled and let to drop flush 5 times w/o...
Her are your manuals bro...
Here are the TM's + I use. I "believe" all are the latest.
If anyone finds a newer version or if I am missing
something or using something wrong PLEASE tell me !
Some of these files ares HUGE! HUGE!
So be forwarned. Might be best to click and walk away at times...
I see your round convex mirrors are mounted on the top
bar. Mine are on the vertical and low. I have been
threatening to add a like mirror to the right front top
corner of the hood. There is a HUGE blind spot from
the rear of the cab forward where you just can not
see a tiny civvy. Anyone done...
The axles are an issue. You can snorkel the breathers up high.
The power steering has a vent, the engine oil fill is an issue and
I think there is a crankcase breather up there.
Look at a parts TM and find the Fording System
and look at all the tubes and where they go to see what needs...
SS can I get some more from you regarding run flats? Specifically,
if you have some input on 14:00-20R flavor wheels please?
Why do you dislike them? Where might they be good?
I simply seek info from the beentheredonethat crowd.
There is hardly a day that goes by that I do not
think about building a ROPS for my M925A1.
These trucks have nothing to protect us.
This is making me think harder.
I have visited the subject.
I have built ROPS past,
but this is an extra
20,000 pounds.
Still Doable.
I hate to
change
stock...
Next piece...............;
Ugg, the muffler is real bad...
Thinking harder on this one. . .
Yea I want to stay stock so I will look for a used muffler
from the dry states, no rusty's .
SURPRISES!
When I first looked at this I almost threw in the towel
then I said I mine as well try to fix it...glad I did.
On one end there is a divot, almost looks like someone tagged
the flange w/ a cut off wheel. I welded it and ground it as new.
On the other end, the leaker end, it looks...
