I painted two doors for mine today to test paint color. I had it mixed to the FS paint code for 383, but it looks too light. It is looking more like the shade of older faded 383, but I will reserve final judgement until tomorrow.
Cool. Keep me informed if something changes.
it doesn't seem too complicated but I want to be walked through things with pump timing involved the first time around if possible. I learn much better that way than by reading.
I need to have you come down and bring some seals and such with you sometime anyway. Would like you to walk me through replacing HH o-rings on one of my engines that I have out. Easier to do it before it goes into a truck.
Filter base number is 4019. It supports a 12 micron filter with water separator. I will get you the filter number tomorrow when I have sunlight. It is not a conversion for the stock base, it is a whole replacement filter head. You do have to use the brass reducers and fittings from the old base...
I installed a spin on filter base from napa for my primary fuel filter, and changed the lift pump out AGAIN. Degreased and washed down the engine and sprayed the bugs out of the radiator. going to try to paint the truck before the rally.
You could probably find the rest of what you are looking for, but good luck with the no leaks part... Even fresh rebuilt trucks and crate engines had leaks.
