The thread will not be closed because of opposing ideas. Healthy debate may help others in the future. I think referring to any member who offers an opposing view as a troll is unjust. Just because a member starts a thread doesn't mean he moderates it. John, by all means, follow your heart and...
For what it's worth, I did a 4.10 swap on one of my trucks. I would have preferred to keep the 4.56 but I did the swap to achieve an objective. For the same given RPM of 2806, I gained 6 MPH of road speed. My 55 MPH is now 61 and 60 MPH is now 67. I can tell when towing. My current solution...
Lift questions. Even with 4" of lift and no offroading, expect tire contact. A little nip and you should be OK. Rim width and backspacing plays a roll as well so think about that before you buy rims. Consider this! The 6.2 is anemic in the power Dept. It needs 4.56 gears to do any substantial...
The grimmjeeper site is the one I use exclusively. It's nice to be able to run 2 and compare them side by side.
35" tires with 2" of lift is doable but will require sawzall work.
Your trucks, I say go for it. For some reason, I don't have the same concerns with mine. They always start and get me home. There is some simplicity of the gassers and their ease of starting in sub zero climates.
100% stock truck turn 2806 RPM @ 55 mph. Going with 4.10 gears and 33" tires nets you 64 mph for the same RPM. The same 2806 RPM with only using a 700R4 nets you 83 MPH. Cruising at 70 MPH with a 700R4 has you at an ideal 2366 RPM.
FWIW FFC of the MVPA worked pretty hard to get the FL MV laws passed as they are.I doubt that they will stand by if there is something brewing. They have lots of members with registered Jeeps driving about.
While I.can't speak intelligently for this batch of multifuel, I can say with a degree of certainty that it is worth the trouble to ground hop it in the can before install. It takes very little time and resources. Do have a piece of wood to choke off the turbo in the event of a runaway.
For what it's worth, local tag agencies can't issue FMV antique tags. There is no code in their system and Tallahassee knows this. They also can't override it so all tags of the sort must be issued by Tallahassee. Previously they could issue at the branches but only by listing the vehicle as...
