Eaton makes a great clutch type posi. unit that is much better. Used to change them out all the time back in the 1990's.

The govlock has a lot of small parts and most of the time something goes wrong, the parts end up getting chewed up in the ring and pinion.

Way back, 1000 parts per million, today 15 PPM. The old gear oil had high sulfur, ( back in the 1950's and 1960's in the 2 1/2 ton M35) remember the teeth on the ring & pinion was polished to a mirror finish, sulfur.

Cutting oil has high sulfur content. Are you sure you want to do that?

It has a special job with that half moon cut out front and rear in the middle.
