Registration number. The bumper numbers change depending on where the vehicle goes but the registraton number stays the same for the life of the truck. Should be the same as the one on the dash data plate.

When the turbo compresses air it makes heat. I have neveir measured this engine, but, on old school stuff like the Cummins C series, pre 1991 product, w/o CAC, 210 hp, the compressor outlet temps were around 250 degrees making only 12 pounds manifold pressure with around 75 degree ambient...
Last time I was there to do an inspection I was allowed to poke around the vehicle in question all wanted. If he is in a good mood and not too busy they will let you look at all you want. Make a list of lot #s and just tell them you wish to look at all of them and hand them the list.
