The air will accumulate at the top of the master cylinder. As the master cylinder pressurizes all the air will rise to the top. You won't push air through the fluid already there!

I can confirm that the floor gets mighty hot. I've never felt the need to run a tach as I can calculate it pretty close mechanically. There was a contingent that claimed it was necessary to monitor converter slip. I concur that now that the data was confirmed, not much need for a tach.
If anyone has an M116 body in the scrap bin, I might be interested. Not interested in gold plated bodies or trailer beds sold at complete trailer prices.
They still make 2 post radios so that one doesn't need to mutilate the sheetmetal. With todays Ipods and phones and such, it would make sense to just hide an amp and speakers with a plug for your media player of choice.
