Dumb Question: How do you clean up the sand? Or do you?
Wish I would have known about these. I just finished my Pinz and stripped the whole thing with a wire wheel on a grinder. What a PITA that was. Can't imagine doing that on a M35!
About the only thing worthwhile in Dayton. I went there every weekend as a kid growing up. I still enjoy going there on my visits back home. I would like to see the museum in DC sometime. I hope they can get a shuttle at Wright-Patt.
Going to watch it at 9pm (Mountain). I know the hardest things I've ever done in law enforcement are death notifications. Especially telling parents a child has been killed. It is emotionally draining. I can't imagine how difficult a duty it would be to assist the family throughout the...
I'm going to have my kleenex box ready. I can't watch Band of Brothers without choking up, and I've seen it dozens of times.
Dubois is just over the Togwotee Pass from here (Jackson Hole), so the release of the film is getting lots of attention here.
It's cool to find stuff like that. I found a Studebaker Weasle up in the Teton National Forest at an old ranch. It's just the tub lying upside down, pretty ate up with rust. I did find the tracks nearby coiled up.
There is a version that has a cargo trailer for the back car instead of another passenger compartment. Probably only hold one sled unless you could build some kind of rack to carry one on top of the other. That would be pretty cool.
You can ship it here to me in WY and I will thoroughly test it's cold weather and snow capabilities. You can pick it up when I'm through. Heck, I won't even charge you for my time, and I'll pay for the fuel.
Wow, wow, WOW!!! Great work. All it takes is one life saved, one downed officer, hostage, etc rescued. Pays for itself instantly. When I got into LE 18 years ago I didn't see the need for rifles in patrol cars. Now I can't imagine NOT having one. Times change and we have to change with...
That might be the coolest thing I have ever seen!:-D Great now I want one of those.
I was kind of shocked at how well that thing moves. What is the top speed on one of those?
I'm thinking I might just steer clear of the whole GL thing. IMP is only 6 hours away. The extra $$ would be worth it to me to know the truck has been gone over really well by someone that knows what they are looking for.
Now if I was still back home, I'ld have to go check out a couple of...
Doesn't look there are any close by. Then again, nothing is close by here. There are a bunch in Columbus, OH which is really close to my hometown (Dayton). Got lots of friends and family still there. Just kind of "what if-ing".
Just looking at the trucks on the reinstated GL site. Seems like 90% say "won't start" or "doesn't run". In the pics they look pretty decent. What's the chances it's something really simple? Do you guys bid on these?
I was looking at these too. Especially around here with our snow. Then I found out they get about 1-2 MPG. Parts seem to be pretty pricey too. I still think they are pretty darn cool, though.
I haven't seen one in the US for cheaper than $25,000 up to $35,000 depending on condition and...
Ha, ha, Bryan, you crack me up.
I love my Pinz, it will kill me to sell it. Just took her up in the mountains today for a drive....Brrrrrrrrrr. She runs great and has been very dependable. I think the 712 is the best off road vehicle ever made.
If I sell the Pinz it's for economic...
