These arn't a Cummins. The notion that I have found after much reading on this site is that the Multi's can't handle running at their governed limit for long, much less a higher one. The big difference between the Multi's and other diesil's are that a conventional diesil has a compression ratio...
Vintage Iron has the steel ones picured in this thread, here in the classfieds. Me and Repo I know have ordered one and are enthusiasticly waiting on them. Pics and a write up on how they were adapted to our trucks and if we noticed any difference coming shortly after.
Post #11 takes care of #1,2,and 3. Also includes a rubber insulated bracket. The noise is slight from these, you only hear them when engine off, hood open and working on it. Also very small and only 2 wires to hool up to it.
That's cool, it uses screw in adjusters to shim the gear side to side like the old Ford 9 in. did. Any pics of the loose locker before the install? Was it a new carrier, is that why you had to gring on the housing?
Good idea Heath, and there's already a line plumbed inside the cab for that too that I could use to hook it up right? Talking about the airflow restriction guage line, I could temporaraly hook something to that to colltect that kind of data. I do have a hand vacum pump, I'll hook it up and try...
At idle the engine shouldn't be consuming enough cfm's for it to be a restriction. As far as running down the road, I'll give my 2cents worth.....If you are familar with the principle of airflow across a opening creates a vacum in the opening, as a example I have a A/C evac too that uses shop...
Appreciated! Just to let you know, the hole on the bottom needs to be for 4 in pipe. Our 2 1/2 tons have a different pipe size than you 5 ton, Looks great though. I'll be checking the classifieds but PM me I'll buy the first!
Was it a NO on the diamond plate steel option?
Naw, the heat is generated in the cylinder, if you run over I think the temp was 1300*F in the cylinders the piston start to melt. We're only worried about the exaust side. Being the sensor is a little downstream you have to assume that it's started to cool some. Me personally I don't let mine...
Congrat's on your fiance[thumbzup], mine's a little harder to talk into pics.
What collar are you refering to? My truck has a 4 in pipe that has a couple of slots cut lenth wise in it and just a regular turbo clamp that's not welded on. Just a 4 in diameter pipe out the bottom about 6 in long...

The last pic of the first post, the one with the chick sittin on the hood.
What kind of hose are you supposed to use for the upper rad. hose? When I did alot of work to it recently I replaced the one that was on it with a very heavy duty, stiff hose. I'm wondering if that's what actually caused my leak, not enough flex for the hot to cold temp change.
Are you talking about something like a blend door? Where it changes from hot to cold? If it's for something like that a F250-350 has a electric self regulating vacum pump that doesn't take much power to run and it provides enough vacum to run the plenum door actuators and the 4x4 lock hubs...
